    Very very disappointed with Quidco.
Clicked through them to Currys/PC World in Feb 2020. 15% cashback for buying a TV . Transaction tracked.
What a joke!. Cashback of over £50 has just been declined as returned/cancelled/amended order.
I am sitting here looking at the flipping TV. There was absolutely no returning/cancelling/amending of my order whatsoever. I'm not a newbie. I clear cookies.
Why are companies who do this allowed to still continue even when it's brought to quidco's attention?
I do apologise that your cashback has been declined, I don't like to see cashback declined either but sadly we do have to receive the cashback from the retailer to pass onto you. If you want me to have a look further for you, please feel free to drop me an email and I'll see what I can do 😊 -Joseph(Joseph@quidco.com)

Thanks Joseph but I did email you and you replied , about 10 minutes before I posted my gripe on this thread.Your response was the generic it's not our fault etc etc but the question still remains as to why companies are allowed to get away with not keeping up their end of the bargain?
Hey there, I am really sorry for this I do appreciate how disappointing it is when cash back is being declined by the retailer, we do everything we can to obtain cash back for our members. Regretfully we do advise on the user agreement that we cant guarantee cash back due to the declines coming from the retailer which sometimes can be out of our hands. If you would like to send another email to joseph@quidco.com we can take another look for you and see if there is anything we can do further for you. I look forward to hearing from you - Joseph@quidco.com
Think that's a pointless waste of yours and my time to be honest. You've already looked into it , you said, and apart from offering me £3.50, ie 1% of my spend there's nothing else you can do, you said.
I just wanted the rest of the MSE forum to know what had happened between me, Quidco and Currys/PC World. You're not going to change your mind and I'm not going to change my opinion.

It's a shame because cashback is a good idea in principle.

The problem is that over the years retailers have found ways to evade their obligations while taking the advertising boost which promotion on the cashback sites provides. It is absolutely no coincidence that the higher value cashback is where most of the problems occur.

It is not necessarily Quidco's fault in the sense of bad intent on their part - and you would hope that if you are not paid then neither are they (where's the proof in this shady process?) - BUT it is absolutely Quidco's fault that their "arrangements" with retailers are not sufficiently binding to ensure consistently good results.

I'd love Martin Lewis and his team to prise the lid off this whole industry and tell us what is really going on - because, in the absence of transparency and regulation, consumers are increasingly the victims of legalised mis-selling.

You said , what I'm sure a lot of consumers, are thinking, in a much better way than I could have done.
Appreciate this forum letting me get this off my chest.

Hello there... I am really sorry to hear of any disappointment caused, with cash back if the transaction is initially declined we do have the premise to challenge this using a claim. With claims we go back to the retailer to challenge the initial decline and hopefully obtain the cash back through the claim. Regretfully if it is the claim that is declined we are unable to raise this a third time with the retailer which I do understand is disappointing and I do apologise for this. If you have any claims or transactions on your account that you would like us to look into for you, we would be more than happy to do so, please send an email over to us and we can take a look further for you. Many thanks! - joseph@quidco.com
