  • Having been a regular Quidco user for years having earned over £5600 in total.
However, I am disappointed at Aviva declining my £270 cashback although I’ve complied fully with all T&Cs.

According to Quidco there’s nothing I can do.  However, thankfully there’s Trust Pilot, Google Reviews etc.

So, 95% successful payments? Sounds pretty good to me, but you go ahead and throw about negative reviews after a single issue.
  • I would like to see the quoted successful payment percentage broken down because I suspect the single number presents a misleading picture. From my own experience over many years and various feedback media (including 386 pages on this forum), the big volumes of very small cash back amounts pay out with close to 100% success; the much smaller numbers of larger (£20+) payments seem to be in the 60-70% success bracket. Given that the same Ts&Cs apply equally to all amounts, it's clear that vendors actively resist honouring the best deals but only once the legal right for the consumer to cancel has passed.

Avoiding paying out £270 with no valid reason when the customer has complied is justified to you, is it?  My gripe is not with Quidco, but with Aviva.

Have you tried taking this up with Aviva?  It can be difficult getting firms to engage directly but worth a try, especially for such a large sum. Personally, I think there is an industry-wide problem here which allows the advertising of cashback deals which appear to be binding to offer no safeguards for the consumer whatsoever.  It's all down to so-called goodwill and whatever the broker (e.g. Quidco) says has happened.  No transparency, no independent oversight, no recourse to the usual consumer protections.

It was the figures given by the post I was replying to ;)

Actually your gripe is with neither as cashback is handled by the referral companies that act as go between, not Quidco OR Aviva. Besides, you are £5600 better off thanks to those same companies, I think that's pretty good going. I get that it's damned annoying when a big one doesn't pay out, but the two big rules of cashback - one, it's never guaranteed, and two, never make a purchasing decision based on cashback. If you stick to those rules you'll never have anything to get frustrated about.

  •  have been a registered Premium customer of Quidco for several years now.

On the 15/11/20 I used QUIDCO COMPARE BIKE  to search for motorcycle insurance. I purchased a new bike policy ( carol Nash select ) immediately via the quote which was generated  - and was expecting the transaction to be tracked. When I was unable to locate the activity I contacted QUIDCO customer service dept and was advised that the Quidco compare  would not appear via tracking for 90 days. I waited for my cash back to appear and did not receive and notifications or correspondence from Quidco in any form. Last week while searching for another product I checked my activity and the transaction was still not tracking AND after checking my account I noted that the transaction had been declined . I contacted QUIDCO customer service and was informed that as the transaction was over 45 days I was unable to appeal and was informed that the merchants decision was final.

The  compare system is misleading as It does to allow a customer to check the activity of the Quidco compare transaction and as it takes 90 days for a decision to appear on the customers account which then takes it over the 45 days appeal window.

On the 5/4/21 I used the quidco compare system again to search for another motorcycle policy . I purchased a new policy immediately on receiving the quotation from Swinton Insurance .

Again I checked the activity tracker and was unable to locate this transaction despite receiving numerous emails from quidco advising me to purchase  insurance from the generated quotation. I contacted your customer services and was informed yet again that quidco compare activity does not appear  for at least 90 days. I asked of they could confirm my activity but was told no I had to wait 90 days.

I am now in a situation where I am unable to confirm if I will receive my cash back as it was the only reason I took out both policies based on price .

I am now financially at a loss due to using this system. -

    AVOID !!

Hi, last week I opted into the £5 bonus but then discovered Holland & Barret wasn't included.  I then clicked through H&B and made a purchase at a special 30% rate but it's not showing as tracked.  However the £5 bonus shows in my activity and when I click on it it says 'retailer pending' and 'purchase date pending'.   Is that my H&B order somehow caught up in the bonus?
