Quidco Question and Answers

Hi all
I have been asked to repost this here as I put it on a less appropriate page previously.
I'm keen to find out what I should do about my online security whilst I am dealing with a request Quidco have recently sent me...
I have a new credit card that I got through natwest via Quidco. Sadly the tracking didn't go through and I've put a claim in that Quidco are dealing with.
I don't know if I'm being a bit odd but I feel very uneasy about the fact they have now asked for my card number and postcode, given they already know my name and could go on to try and make online payments (although I guess they may need the expiry/CC2 thingy number)
I wanted to see what your experienced eyes thought of this?
Thanks in advance
Sam
Hi Sam,
These are the details that Natwest requires for claims and they wouldn't ask us to provide this information to them if the service wasn't secure.
I do appreciate these details are personal, but we would never ask you for the security number on your card or pin number which means that transactions cannot be carried out with the data that you're being asked for.
Our member's security is important to us. We are authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority and do follow and comply to data protection rules.
I do hope this has helped to reassure you.
Kind regards,
Kim

Hi Kim
Thanks for clearing that up for me, much appreciated!0 -
@Cyberman60, I've not personally dealt with RAC, but put in a mis selling complaint as above.
http://www.rac.co.uk/complaints
I prefer to complain via phone, but you must stress it's a complaint.
RAC wil then have 8 weeks to reach a conclusion, good or bad! If not resolved or not resolved to your satisfaction, the you will pass on your complaint to the FOS. RAC will advise you with their final response that the FOS is a route you can take and will enclose a FOS leaflet.
FOS info is included on the RAC link above also.
FOS will charge RAC a £550 referral fee, hence why RAC should and want to resolve pre FOS.
The FOS aren't bothered with tracking, cookies etc, only in whether you have been paid what was offered for purchasing a financial product.
RAC will easily be able to check where your purchased originated (ie Quidco via their affiliate network) as this will have an electronic trace confirming time and date. RAC should be able to identify this in minutes (if wanted).
Good luck, but if RAC take things seriously and your transaction was genuine, I'd imagine you will be paid within a month.
seopa-declined - I'm imagining 'seopa-declined' means seopa is the company responsible for managing Quidco's compare service? Quidco would have to confirm that though!
B_M, I just want to thank you again for your advice as today I received a call from RAC granting me my 30 quid cashback as a goodwill gesture. The money apparently went to Quotezone instead of me and RAC inform me that Quotezone are linked to the Quidco website which is probably what I did the quote through so this is a Quidco bug IMO. !!!
 :j :T0 -
@Cyberman60, well done and saves RAC having to deal with the FOS and relieving themselves of £550.
Quotezone/Seopa appear to be behind running the Quidco compare service along with other compare services on Quidco and tcb etc.
So, it is strange for them to be paid and not passed to yourself, the rightful owner of the cash.
But you know how to get your cash the next time.
Just a shame you had to fight and jump through hoops! No payments from financial products from cash back sites? Put in a complaint direct and if they don't resolve your issue, head straight to the financial ombudsman - it costs the company £550 in referral fees, win or lose.0 -

My account is working OK, but obviously this sort of thing makes me not to want to use it really.
EDIT: She has now e-mailed you via the web site. Please let the account be reopened, cancellation because of accidental excess clicks (not excessive by the way, the odd one or two a week) is draconian to say the least and probably not a TCF way of running a company.
EDIT2: This is part of the e-mail you sent her on 18th ....
Your account has been closed due to the excessive click through attempts with Direct Flights which has a clear warning stating;
"Cashback is limited to five searches per week. Exceeding this amount will result in your Quidco account being terminated."
Your account has been closed under Section 8 of our Quidco Account Holder Agreement;
"We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any Account Holders access to the Quidco Service, or parts of it, if in our reasonable view the relevant Account Holder or Account appears to be in breach of any provision of this Agreement.
Well after saying on Wednesday that they will look into it, the crooks at Quidco have said that my wife's account will not be re-opened and the cashback is thus forfeit. So they are stealing the cashback she has earned. Quidco are crooks and should not be used. THe ability to close people's accounts and steal their cashback, hardly a fair business model.
Do not use quidco, they are an unethical business.0 -

Hi Cyberman,
I'm glad to hear you had a satisfactory result from RAC.
Just some sage advice, to prevent this from happening for future purchases, we'd always recommend clearing your cookies before making purchase with high amounts of cashback on offer.
There is also further information for insurance purchase located under our 'Tips for making cashback work for you' within our help pages. These tips will help ensure your cashback, especially if your using other insurance comparison services before making your purchase through Quidco.
These tiny adjustments to your on-line shopping practice will help to make sure the referral fee benefits your pocket and not paid elsewhere.
Kind regards,
Kim

But you have already given your final response of "computer says no". For a few quid, messing with idiots like you isn't worth her bother. Goodbye.0 -

Hi.
Don't know if this is the correct thread to post my query but I've bought a pack of Birds Eye Inspirations Chargrill fish for £2 to take advantage of the Clicksnap try me free promo.
However, I've just checked my Tesco receipt and it just says "Fish £2.00"
Will I have problems getting the £2 cashback??0
