I am also on SP's fix online 11 tariff. I calculate it is going up 48%!!!!!! There is no penalty charge if you move once you are notified of a price increase. I have switched to npower Go Fix 6 today.0

During my 'switch over' there was nothing to say about being charged exit fees.0 -
Hi,
I am on Scottish Power online saver 11 (dual fuel). I have just input my details into a couple of switching sites, and this tariff is still coming up as £129 cheaper for me per year for dual fuel. I could save £46 on electricity if I change to npower go fix 6.
I am sure I have a tie in fee with scottish power though. What would you advise in this situation? Any advice gratefully received!
Thank you!
Hi,
just wondered if anyone could advise re: my above post. Don't know what to do........should I go to a fix?? Any help gratefully received!! Thanks
Edit to say - strange - today uswitch are showing cheaper tariffs than the one I am on? yesterday they weren't. Have they adjusted the Scottish power prices to compare. So I suppose I just need to change supplier to a fixed rate then? How do I go about getting the £50 waived from Scottish power though? thanks!0 -

I rang them and they confirmed that there was no charge to change tarrifs.Jack of all trades ... Master of none

I'm on OES12 and just done a useful comparison to show increase
energylinx showing current rates, uswitch showing new rates
so energylinx saying my spend is £765.25, and uswitch £1025.93
an increase of 34% !
That has focused my mind into investigating switching, but to whom as they will all be putting up prices
Of course already had a few months (mostly elec ) at current prices0 -

Hi,
I was thinking of a different supplier to be honest? Can I refuse to pay the £50 on the grounds that they are putting up the prices so much? What is the process for this?
Thanks again0 -
Just worked all mine out, I'm on the Online Discounted Tariff August 2011...
Current:
Electric - Primary: 16.656p
Secondary: 10.992p
Night: 5.256p
Gas - Primary: 6.061p
Secondary: 2.869p
New Prices:
Electric - Primary: 21.903p
Secondary: 11.415p
Night: 5.502p
Gas - Primary: 7.724p
Secondary: 3.545p
Capped till June 2013:
Electric - Primary: 20.765p
Secondary: 11.332p
Night: 5.419p
Gas - Primary: 7.456p
Secondary: 2.958p
Not much difference, but I think I'm going to opt for the capped tariff... although as they are currently changing my direct debit after recent meter readings I can't apply online for up to 2 weeks... I hope I don't miss the boat!!!!!!
Oh and I should say I just did loads of comparisons and there weren't any savings to have at all which I was surprised about...0 -

A. You have 30 days from notification of the price change to reject the new prices and move to a new supplier without incurring any penalties.
B. You can stay with SP and move from one tarrif to another without incurring amy penalties.
C. They have no plans to scrap the capped rate deals.
After doing some sums, I have moved to the capped rate until 2013 with no standing charges. All the comparison sites said that this was the cheapest capped rate, and I'm not prepared to take a chance on other prices.
oops - I see your earlier post now!! When is the notification of price change? Do I have to wait for an email or does the fact that it is all over the news count?
Thanks0 -

We had no record that this was going to happen reckon we will be changing in the next few months with the help of this site
Let me get this straight, your gonna go to all that trouble...pay a termination fee etc. all because they took 4 extra pounds from you?
I wish i could have a day in your shoes with those pathetic problems, so i could get a day away from my actual problems!0
