Hello, I opened an A&L account in March06 and got the £50 plus another £50 for a referral. I have now closed the current account but still have an ISA with A&L.
Does anyone know if I can be referred to open the new Premier Direct and be eligable for the £50 again? It would give me great pleasure to get another payment from a company with shocking customer relations.main stream media is a propaganda machine for the establishment.0 -
Has anyone had luck with getting the Quidco and the refer-a-friend cash? I've received about 3 R-a-F £50s so far but the Quidco transaction still just shows as tracked - would be great to get both

there has been alot of talk over on the referals board about this...apparently it has been in the T&C's for a couple of months that you cant benefit twice from this offer.
also if your quidco did track/pay, there is a chance BOTH yours and the person you refered will have their £50.00 withdrawn, risking you going overdrawn.
this is what i have picked up on the A&L thread on the referals board, maybe worth taking a look.0 -
Firstly, Hi there!
When you look to start any kind of financial relationship, you need to have something to prove your current address such as a council tax, TV Licence or water authority bill. You also need to provide your last 3 years addresses where you have resided.
If you are living in rented accommodation, there may be a discrepancy if one of the previous tenants declared themselves Bankrupt at the same address. In this case, you should look to file a 'Notice of Disassociation' between yourself and the other party with the credit reference agencies. I am unsure if there is a charge payable for this. Alternatively, use your parents address.
Hope this helps....

OK, my daughter opened an A&L a/c about two weeks ago (before) the £50 freebie via Quidco. She has received the forms to refer friends etc and I intend opening an a/c and then completing her claim form.
So my question is... If I open my a/c via Quidoc do I get £50 in Quidco, £50 for opening the a/c at the A&L site and my daughter gets £50 for refering me.... or am I being too greedy?
Thanks in anticipation.0 -
Quidco and A&L c/back are mutually exclusive (sadly!). Best you can get is £50 each for you and your daughter (which isn't bad mind
).

Just saw yesterday that my bank, first direct, is to charge £10 a month for people who are unable to have £1500 deposited in their current account monthly. I am 66, so get a state pension and a small teachers pension. I still do occasional days as a supply teacher, but can't possibly pay in this amount. Is it worth changing immediately to another current account, or do I hang on and see what happens? First time of writing, so I hope this is ok. Thanks - don't know what I'd do without you.0

There is a discussion thread about the First Direct fees and the best ways to avoid them HERE that might give you some ideas.0 -
