  • I think it should stay too. I personally won't drop in much but it's nice to know it's there when I get around to planning for next year and as someone else said, it means people who want to talk about Christmas still have a dedictaed area to post. Maybe tidy all up like the Indexed collection on Old Style so it's easy to look around.

please keep this board as christmas is an all year plan that has to be budgeted for and incorporated into our lives, buying at sales times etc so it needs to stay and there are too many good tips on this board to sent it to board heaven.

Rename it as a seasonal board - so valentines, easter etc are all together.

People will probably like to know how others' moneysaving christmas endeavours went. I spent £50 on each of my kids and I will of course be back to let u all know they were happy! Also we would like to hear about the results of homemade presents etc. And dates to plan to make stuff for next year would be useful, like reminders to do the cake, make your own pudding, pickles and so on. We are looking forward to some 2 yr old sloe gin. If We survive I will report back LOL.
The idea of saving and planning for Christmas should be promoted because Im sure Im not alone in my frustration and exasperation at people who say they 'cant afford Christmas' or they just have to do last minute shopping days beforehand, clogging up the roads and town centres.
So if this board is here all year it will be a good thing;)

I am guilty of leaving Christmas to the last minute, no money saved, whack it on the cc and pay minimum payment but NOT any more! We havent increased our debt this Christmas and managed to pay a bit extra off our balance so my new years resolution to myself is to continue with this. I really would love to prepare for Christmas in advance (using this forum), not sure how motivated I'm going to be mid year but hopefully there will be enough people here to keep each other going.

:rotfl: Tell us your worst xmas present and why in your opinion it was so bad:rotfl:
  • Make it a permanent thread. Might encourage posters to start saving for Christmas in January and not November:eek:

EDIT : gardening board sounds like an excellent idea :)

Change the name to 'celebrations and seasonal festivities board' and keep it running.

As has been said, there are celebrations and seasonal festivities all year round. At the minute, ideas for birthdays, Easter, Halloween etc are usually dotted around various boards so having it all in one place would be better.

And like others, I'm already picking up bargains for next Christmas so where to find them would be great. Christmas happens at the same time every year so I never understand why some people seem to act as if it has just been sprung on them at the last minute and they have to buy everything within a couple of weeks which leads them to complain about the cost

I could not agree more :D
