What shall we do when its all over for this year, happy to listen to your thoughts

You could just change the board title to Christmas & Festivities which would include any other celebrations throughout the year.

Kathyd - have you checked out the gardening threads on OS? There's usually monthly ones where everyone chips in with what they're growing and they give hints and tips to others. HTH

A gardening one is needed, must be lots of us out there who love gardening and many more who would love to try it. So many ways to save, roll on spring

I would love to see a gardening board on here - sometimes there is stuff on the Home board but it would be great to have a dedicated forum. I am very new to gardening and could so easily spend on "essential" gadgets. Surely there must be some nice green fingered would be moderator out there

    January Sales?

I agree! We can then inform people as to what bargains they can find, such as wrapping and decorations for next year and also bargain presents which people might want to snap up!

Maybe change the title to 'Other Festivities', so maybe look ahead to Easter/Spring and do a 'Who's spotted the first eggs for sale', or where the bargain eggs are to be found threads. Then by the time Easter's over, there will be only 8 months Christmas!! Just a thought!

  • speaking of gardenign and christmas, superdrug has soem lovely novelthy pressie sin, i got my grandad a kneeler set with a trowel, gloves, fork and kneeler, a knome-shaped radio and a multi-tool (like a pen knife but for gardening), tehy were all reduced to £2.99 and on 3-for-2 and i used one of those 10% e vouchers, so all that for £5.40 and lots for my grandad to open on christmas day! :)

  • I think the holiday board should stay because i love planning Xmas all year through - i think a gardening board might be good too though because lots of us want to learn how to grow our own veg to help with being o/s and moneysaving and i think it would be handy to gardening novices like me

I agree: start planning Christmas 2007! I started planning this years in September, and i know when i read through all the posts and tips and suggestions here i wished i'd started earlier.. just being able to save a little bit every week or buy a pressie every month would help a great deal, and having this board will help encourage us to do things that way. Also, if you hand make stuff then it often requires *time* to do things, especially if you're also working, and this board will help to encourage those pursuits too.

C'mon, Martin. The answer's obvious. What do you do with the things that you don't want come the New Year?....

I think it should stay, but maybe also incoperate all holidays and occasions, easter, halloween, anniversaries, birthdays ect.

Then have one main board for the lot of it, everyone will know straight where to come for inspiration for everything, and we can all also keep a log of things we have bought during the year for next xmas.

I was gonna say this too, but will just quote wanty and say..........here here, I agree :rotfl: :rotfl:
