My H Is Taking Me On Friday To Buy My Own Xmas Presents!!!

Honestly? I think you do sound a tad ungrateful- he obviously wants you to have presents that you like and will use. You could make it a lovely day out, but only if you start thinking positively about it.
Are you a militant money saver? Do you whinge at him for the amount he pays for things?0 -
I have to be pretty specific about what I want even to the extent of reminding him which website to look on and doing the google search for him.
I have come to the conclusion that men don't realise that the surprise is part of it - they just think that buying something you wouldn't dream of getting for yourself is enough of a treat
Actually after 24 years together, I feel that way too- he knows it really hurts me to be extravagant (not the actual shopping you understand, just the shopper's remorse afterwards) so this way I get nice things without the guiltIt doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!0 -
I too like surprises, so I suppose I'd be flat if I had to go shopping with my BF. I quite like the list idea that people have mentioned though. Gives scope for imagination, but in a controlled way!!
I might try this one next year. How long til pay day? :eek:

I think it's really lovely that he cares enough to make sure he gets you what you really want. He's even taking a day off specially for it. Some men would just get you any piece of carp, on the way home from the pub on Christmas eve, and expect you to be grateful. Ok, so you might not get a huge surprise, but at least it will be something that fits, and in the colour of your choice. Don't be hard on him, he is thinking of you

Then perhaps he's worried he'll spend 'too much' - it honestly sounds like he's just trying to keep the peace by not leaving anything to balls up.

I would like some jewellery but he's said he's not spending the amount of money he would need to, to get something decent, and hope I like it.
All protestants that he's got a good taste in jewellery has failed to weaken his resolve.
Having said that he did get me some 'costume' jewellery last year and to be honest I would never have chosen it in a zillion years......so perhaps he has a point!2014 Target;
