Poor DS! He's already got good enough to get where he wants to go and he's unhappy? So pretty much a perfectionist then?

Lots of hugs (and congratulations!!!) to both of you.

Glad Peedie is keeping you company.

I completely understand your DS attitude (whilst not really agreeing with it). It sounds to me like he sets himself high standards, not always a good thing for your own self esteem. I remember when I got my results for my Aromatherapy diploma, I went back to work quite miserable and they asked me why I was so miserable given that I had just obtained a diploma. I said it was because I only got 89% overall marks and was disappointed in that. They were shocked and it was the first time I had realised that being content with things as a pass should be the normal course of events. Still find it hard to accept a Pass though, always want to do better. Maybe that is where he is coming from. Dragon is right he can improve next year without pressure.

Cheri that sounds just like me :rotfl:. I did my degree with the OU. The year after my marriage broke up I got funding for my 2nd level course then found out a 3rd year course I'd really wanted to do was ending, so, as the funding wasn't transferable, I took the plunge & did both. Equivalent of a full year at uni while working full time, running a house with 2 kids and getting over depression. Got the equivalent of a 1st for the 2nd level and 2:1 for 3rd level and was disappointed as up until them I'd only got 1sts :rotfl:

:T:j:T well done gamer boy :T:j:T
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Oh dear Gally! Well done though. This is why I am glad that my Mum wouldn't let me go to uni and I now have the sense not to try (mind you my brain is nowhere near good enough to study these days - struggling with my concentration for German is enough)

I'm like that too .... I found the first year of my counselling course really difficult, and only got a "c", which they translated as average. In the Personal Development Group I was accused of lying when I said I'd rather come top or fail :o its kind of extreme, but there you go.

It's like Perfectionists Anonymous in here... ;) *confesses* I remember being really annoyed when I got my Standard Grade results, which were all '1's overall, except for one '2' for the Speaking element in English (was marked down for being nervous!).. I'm a teeny bit better these days (with the perfectionism and public speaking), but not much!

In holiday in Wales we found something that looked like small blueberries and tasted similar, growing on upland heathland - obviously not the same thing but yummy so I thought I'd share! Ooh via this site (http://www.countrylovers.co.uk/wfs/wfsberries.htm) I have remembered they were bilberries! YUMMY!

Yay for potential bakery jobs and polytunnel plans! :T
vl, this is a fantastic link, thank you :T"t

I think what I have is damsons - I'll check again, and go onto google images, but I think thats what it is. Excellent news!

Otherwise.... rosehips sound good, tho only the wild variety are mentioned. I think some of mine are wild, but I can't remember which, so that too is for next year :o

Mountain ash jelly :) "tho the berries on their own don't taste pleasant" :rotfl:

Elderberries - they'd be good, but that link says "some people react badly to the berries"

    Sloes are good, thank heavens.

Blimey! It doesn't mention juniper berries tho, and I thought they were okay - they're what makes gin, aren't they? And a conserve of some sort, as well?
