I make Elderberry wine. It's one of the best reds. I made 2 gallons last year and it is much better than the supermarket wines and literally pennies per bottle :money:
Could the fruits be sloes or blackthorn (Prunus spinosa)? or Cherry plum (Prunus cerasifera?) Neither ought to be ripe yet but - this year - who knows!
Glad your adventures were good, Pippi.
Thanks for this, Tricia, both counts - I don't think I'm up to winemaking this year (tho I do have 3 demijohns!!) but a syrupy thingy is definitely on the cards. I'll take some photos/a leaf from the tree and bring it back here (when it stops raining)

Hope your DS gets the grades that he wants/needs and that you find out soon enough. Did Peedie wake up enough to make it to work? Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow -- Mary Anne Radmacher0
