Hi sweetie! Thats quite a holibob! Just been having a look at applecross road on google while I have my lunch - that looks the stuff of a Top Gear programme, never mind Albania! Sorry you got mashed by the midges, and *very* happy to have you back :)

Indeed! That is why he wanted to go - like every good tech head he's got it video'd and will be uploaded to utube or fb!

I don't think top gear ever did that road, but I could be wrong - I love the name of it the Belach na bah (better than the english translation - the pass of the cattle!)

Sorry the semi-grind is raising its head already, Pippi - you sound like you're doing okay, tho, and you've got things under control.

Couple of questions about planty/eaty things:

    - can you do anything with elderberries, or is just elderflowers?

    - there's a tree near me that looks like a plum tree - the fruits are tiny, not llike you see in the shops, but I've just cut into one, and it looks like a plum on the inside too. Can't remember what shape the leaves are, but I can go check. This sounds really stupid, but is there anything that could kill me that looks like a plum :rotfl::o:rotfl::o:rotfl::o ?

  • KC could it be a greengage or a damson?

Leaf shape would help! But google greengages or damsons and you'll see what they look like, I'd hold off eating anything until you know what it is although anything from the plum family shouldnt' kill you - but when foraging I know you're a sensible lass! If you do get a look at a leaf that would be helpful - :)

    Elderberry cordial/syrup

    Or elderberry liqueur

Thanks Pippi! You're a star! I'll report back later on leaf shape - that elderberry syrup looks fantastic.
