  • There you go GG - :) ta for the good luck

I can't remember if I put it up here - lady on blog needed the recipe - here we go here too. :)
    Janey's Brownies (makes 24 brownies)

    8oz granulated sugar

    1 1/2 oz cocoa

    3 oz self raising flour

    2 eggs

    2 tablespoons milk

    4 oz butter melted

(or use cooking margarine can't tell the difference)

Butter a tray, 20cm by 3cm, or 12" by 8". Mix the dry ingredients, beat eggs and milk, add melted (not hot) butter. Combine the wet and dry ingredients with a wooden spoon (not difficult, like a muffin mix). Bake for 30 minutes in a preheated oven 180 o C (360 o F) oven, Gas 4-5. Works everytime like a charm - cost approximately £1-£1.50 depending if you put butter or marg in. Keep for a week or more in a sealed container. But not here. (!)

    This is brilliant, thank you.

Cowslips and primroses I have out the back so will need to fence them off. A few other bits out the front (daffodils, lily of the valley) but he isn't allowed out there without me as it isn't fenced in.

Phew, we should be safe then!

Afternoon all, catching up on MSE while listening to GQT...bliss!!

Fingers crossed here for you too Pippi...at least you won't have long to wait now.

Watched the match this morning, a great game, though would have liked a few more points scored. Well done to New-Zealand, it'll be a long celebration party now!! Discovered they even moved the kids holidays so they could watch the rugby...now that's what I call a rugby-mad nation!!! Managed to get LOADs of ironing done during the match...halved the huge pile!!!

I did manage to get all the smaller pots of peppers into the conservatory yesterday. All the courgettes and pumpkins are picked and in the greenhouse now. DH was lovely and helped me clear and weed numerous veg beds. I will weed them more thoroughly during the week and then we'll get some HM compost onto the beds next weekend. They will then be covered with black plastic...great for keeping the weeds down over the winter. Looks like we will be in for heavy rain tomorrow, which will soak the beds nicely before they get covered.

Have bread proving now, and three loads of washing out on the line. Need to prod the dough down and then get on with some more paid IT work...seeing my client tomorrow...and getting paid!! :j

Hope to get some sewing done later too, though we'll see. Feeling a bit wiped out this weekend.

Enjoy the rest of Sunday everyone...hope all the colds have been sent packing!!

Just popping here to say "I've got spuds!!!!"

As some of you know, I've only got a yard, not a proper garden. So I've got some pots that I do salad veg in. I found some spuds that had sprouted so thought I had nothing to lose by planting them, and I've just gone out to tidy up and spotted a spud on the surface. Altogether there's about a kilo.

    Strangely chuffed.

Well done :T There's nothing strange at picking/digging your own produce, even better if you didn't expect much! :D

This is the first year I haven't grown tatties for over 15 years...felt very strange. Going to have to find a corner for some next year ;)
