Quite chilly here today, but I understand we are to expect a mini heatwave later in the week;) and there's me I have packed all my summer clothes away:eek:
Heatwave next week then the snow comes in beg of November apparently. Don't know how true it is though but that's what I've heard :eek:Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -
Apparantly it was snowing in my future home town the other day, too hot to sit out the next day. I read about the heatwave too. Off to check out blog, missed that one. Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Hi all
Feeling much better today, cauterisy thingy is much better than the scalpel and stitches version. Caught up with the housework so feel less guilty.
One good thing though, I never know what to get my Mum for Christmas but............. she's just got a new TV with a built in DVD player so I've just bought her dvd's of musicals which she loves. Problem solved!0 -
Hey up chaps
GV glad you're OK and got chrissy sussed, MrsM I love it when you say, my future town and I've pm'd you again sweetie thank you again, starnac we had a mini heatwave yesterday! Triciaxx it was happy valley - a few miles from our house, I know of the BBC thing great isn't it, what an amazing man and I love heligan - see the man at Eden got knighted. Greying that made me giggle, I liive in hope! - and Keiss I hope the day went well. I love their cards toosparkles well done on the no spends and the weightloss you're going great everything on that food list I love! sfrd cheese is also my downfall - I'm heartened to hear you spent the morning in your dressing gown, I nearly went to the recycling place in my pjs and wellies (well joggy bottoms and wellies) but feared I'd be cold. The cheese is safely frozen..............................
Well yesterday we actually managed to pick 2lb of blackberries - me dd and mr f went (he held the dog) and pointed out good patches - between the gorse, the nettles, the ditches and the midges we didn't do bad. All cooked now and dripping away to make jelly. yum *not that I like jam really but they do*
Went into local town to catch a bit of blues festival weekend - ended up arriving between the tea time and evening break, ended up with f&c on pier and got home in time for Dr W - not a bad evening. As I had misplaced my purse - it was a free evening for me
3 loads washing done and dried- dog had a free bone (almost as big as him) - dug out a bit of the ditch by the house and found an old metal bouy - which convinced dd was a mine - very funny except we had to reassure her it wasn't really (I mean who picks up a mine and says, look I think this is a mine?) - poor gullable lass.
Today a bit more clearing up, paperwork and more sorting out - didn't mention cleaning yesterday as being sunny I abandoned the house and went outside instead. Mr F wants to go to the blues festival again today and actually see some, I'm being supportive (I dont mind live music, I just struggle with the lack of stuff to do when you're listening to it, I'm not big on 'chilling' and get fidgety)
And, someone has stolen the cows, I'm not pleased it means summer is over.Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

Morning Pippi,
how exciting about the buoy, can you use it for something ?
Lovely weather here again today :j there will be some veg patch weeding today, pulled a carrot yesterday, tiny but tasty & so crisp. any ideas as to why my leeks are still smaller than spring onions ? DD is craving leek & potato soup & I had to buy some leeks
.
How about taking some knitting, plant labelling or other small fiddly thing to do at blues festival ?
Gotta go now or I'll be here for hours ...
enjoy your day, whichever way

Lula's right, take your knitting! :T :T Sounds like such a *you* day yesterday pippi - and poor DD telling her it was a mine! :rotfl: Naughty pippi
Think our blackberries have all gone now...0 -
Morning Lula
I'm using the mantra I must not sit down whilst on mse - or nowt gets done!
The bouy is fab and rusty and will definitely need to be used for something - leeks mines are odd - some are very small, some are almost leek like, up here they are blaming the cold weather - dont know what its been like near you - dry weather can make them peedie too
I'd thought of takign a coupel of magazines to read or would that appear rude? OH is just confuzzled as to why I can't just enjoy rather than get cross about not being productive.
Enjoy your day too...........................sorry about the leeks, they will keep on doing their thing for a bit, maybe leave them and take the bigger one now and then?

I think she was about to get Mr F to phone the coast guard - imagine if he had............................:D
You've had a fun weekend - our blackberries here are just starting (they don't normally manage to get this far so I'm not complaining) - we were very happy - although unlike your palace this house is still a tip.......................:rotfl:Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

If you came in Pippi you'd think I hadn't done anything to it! :rotfl: :rotfl:
As for magazines - of course it's fine! Do whatever you like. Depends what kind of place it is as to whether people will frown at you, but ignore them anyway! I mean, if it's entirely packed, and it's the kind of old-style folk club type place where all the lights are on and everyone sits silently listening to all the words of the song, and you're sitting right at the front reading your magazine and rustling the pages while people are struggling to get a seat at the back, then you might get a few frowns :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
If people are milling around, or chattering, or its just in a normal pub, or whatever, then I really don't see the problem!
If you want to look interested, make sure you look up occasionally and catch the eye of someone in the band, and smileMake sure you clap enthusiastically at the end of a song. And maybe even strike up a bit of a chat with someone in the band at the end, or someone else in the audience.
People enjoy music in different ways. I spend a *lot* of time at gigs, as you know, listening largely to music I've heard a million times before floating through the ceiling of the kitchen :rotfl: :rotfl: And I do sometimes sit there with a book, and have even been known to nod off...:rotfl: :rotfl:

:rotfl::rotfl: surely you are more likely to get away with it though if the band includes your OH???Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000
