I really am thick. Thanks GG for clearing that up for me. Tip!!! of course it is. only the council could call it something like that! :rotfl:

Glad that you haven't been blown away. Also glad you have polytunnel help.

Morning!
Not really on top of things today - was away for weekend then got back to a last minute work crisis so got to bed at 3-45 am. Wouldn't be so bad if I didn't have to get up at 7 for the usual school stuff.
Anyway sunny and windy here today, wind is quite warm though so invigorating (which I need!) rather than depressing. Have paid CC bill and made a fresh smoothy from garden stuff (except the banana!) so feeling a bit better now!
Pippi glad the package arrived safely! The real experiment though will be to see if you can get it to grow up there in the windy north!
Hope everyone's Monday is OK so far. Have work to do here and stuff to ebay and/or freecycle and a big pile of stuff for the charity shop - our house is an absolute [STRIKE]tip[/STRIKE] (sorry 'waste transfer station') at the moment!0 -
love the idea of a house being a waste transfer station :rotfl: :rotfl: mine certainly is! :rotfl: :rotfl:
Pippi, do you have any use for green manures?? Got a bag of hungarian rye grass seed, and also some clover (I think, might be field beans, will check) - not really space here to do them justice! Happy to bung in the post if you want to experiment0 -
was it someone here that made HM granola?? If so can I have the recipe pls?Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000

Morning, (oops afternoon). Back from Proms, trying to catch up. Glad to hear the wind isnt as bad as expected. Very windy but sunny and bright here. Day off to do lots of catchy up things. Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow -- Mary Anne Radmacher0

Afternoon all
Just wanted to share my 'baby bird' adventure.
On the way to the bus yesterday I spotted a fledling pidgeon tring unsuccessfully to hide itself on the grass verge. He was still there when I got back:eek:
The bird was sort of half feathers and half down but fairly alert.
I rang the RSPCA who said leave him and see if the parents come back. Despite regular checks he was still all alone. Last night I put him in a little hollow in the leaves under the hedge with some soggy potato cake which he allowed me to do without a struggle which I thought didn't bode well.:(
However, this morning he was still there, on his little feet and squawked at me when I produced more soggy potato cake:j
I rang the RSPCA again and they've just been to collect him:).
The chap said he was amazed and had never seen a fledgling this late and they would normally expect to get calls about birds like him in June! Anyway I'm just hoping he's OK. I know it's 'only a bird' but bless him he was tough enough to survive the night so he deserves a chance.0 -
