Just popped in to say that Pippi's "sconage" recipe used again tonight. Big hit along with my "Sunday Amble Bramble Jam" which I have spent the evening bubbling on the stove.
Ended up just lobbing all my finds in a la Cheery and Pippi but forgot to take pictures as I went along so no blog post :( when will I learn. My foraging consisted of blackberries, sloes, wild plums, rosehips and I chucked in a vanilla pod, lemon rind (juice at the end) a slosh of schnapps and a slosh of red wine. Ended up with too much juice so I have put that into a bottle but have no idea what to do with it. Ideas on a postcard please.

Hello All, my chilli plant is doing well and tomatoes ripening. Making Carrot and Coriander soup in my slow cooker. Have hurt my hand, wondering if its due to my fall a few weeks ago or its more problems developing from my accident a few years ago (skiing, they said it could cause problems in years to come). Getting pain at the base of my middle finger. This wasn't one of the ones I smashed. Hoping its just the damp weather.

    Bank um, not brilliant

Lloyds - over OD limit by £26 due to bt payment going out - why do I always forget about that one? Anyhow - £42 left in the fat controller (other bank) so I've put £30 across - to the lloyds one - as the BT payment goes out today - I shouldn't get charged due to the faster payment thing.

However, got DD £10 cashback yesterday with an 'ice cream' purchase - so I need check that doesn't bounce from fat controller - which means we've not alot of money or to be precise about £5 in each bank so we're still solvent - but more WTFC due on the 8th (which I'll need for dd's)

Argh - £70 down on wtfc makes a difference.................

Today - bit of gardening work (paid)
Bit of office work for the hort dept (thinking paid eventually - not sure yet what the score is)
DD to pick up in town *sigh* again, at 4.45 - will work day around that
Watch banks like a hawk today

If I didn't have my stripeys on, I'd be more than a bit grr/argh ish - but hey ho - knew it would be tough going to begin with. And, we aint sunk yet

    storecupboard day 6
Brekkie from home, cereal etc - milk out of the freezer
Lunch - something previously made and frozen me cauli curry, OH chicken curry - kids packed lunch
Tea - Maybe omlettes? - DD and exchange student being fed at school
    supper from cupboards

    Have a great day chaps!

Blimey, Pippi, that sounds tight. But you also sound like you know what you're doing. How's ebay going for the plant sales, do they slack off at this time of year?

Nice bank shuffling going on there - at least you are aware of where everything is going in and out, makes a big difference.

Yeah helps if you remember when they are going out - must move the bt dd to fat controller and put it with the others on the 15th - :)

Ebay, um, KC yup, shuffles feet, not had anything listed on there for a while, didn't manage it at weekend either - got stuff coming along - but the other things I listed didn't sell - I do think it gets slower - which is why I've started to stock pile house plants too to propagate

I *do* need to get my head into this again now I've time. Job going at local co-op one for 20 hours a week, one for 30 - for 3 months - I've asked for an application form - I like the co-op - don't want to work in a shop again really but in the short term I've no issue with doing that.

Ok tea done - hokey cokey out on line - need get self sorted for gardening and going into office..................not had my cuppa yet nor a canter about the diaries!!!

Eggs to sort and collect too.

Pippi I know you don't want to work in a shop but it will pay the bills and at least in the co-op you get staff discount (think I remember sammykaye on OS thread saying they get it). Staff discounts are good perks. We get a discount card for Asda and Sainsburys (amongst other places) through my work. The Asda card I gave to my Gran to help with her food bill and I use the Sainsbury's one but I tend to shop where ever i am and whatever is cheapest.
