Oh dear re the WTFC Pippi, glad the food stores will help you through.

We had that with the Child Benefit, had to keep letting them know that DS's were still in school. Still getting some for DS2 as he is still in FE, not HE, despite being 18. It will all end when he turns 19 though...still, better than we thought we'd get. :D

Have finished the second coats of emulsion (walls) and satinwood (radiator), looking much better now...debating whether to do another coat tomorrow. Going to sand the emulsion paint spray drops off the skirting this afternoon...may even get a coat of gloss done, though not sure, a bit shattered today :o.

Also need to do some paid work some time today...been letting it slip this week with all the decorating.

I really need to do some lists to get things back on track...everything is all topsy turvy with the conservatory out of action, and all its contents distributed throughout the rest of our small house. I have no proper height table to work at at the moment  We have to eat our meals at the coffee table in the sitting room...a bit of a pain, but hopefully only for a few more days.

Right, that's enough sitting down for a while, need to get going again.

Enjoy the rest of the day everyone x

Isn't YS - 'Yellow Stickered' - as in a 'whoopsie' or reduced item?

    Greying

  • Yay to egg eating store cupboards being stashed and alike :)

I'm just in after an ace couple hours with gamer chops - we've had a mini bonfire outside, just cos we could, we've dug, levelled, measured and concreted in the first polytunnel post - he has thursdays off so I'm figuring we can do a bit of mother son bonding and larking about - we're concentrating on the tunnel to begin with :)

We also drove the BRB down to the beach with trailer and dog and wheelbarrow and buckets and got a trailer of peedie gravel from the shore, for the veggie garden between the orkney flag stones - looks lovely and it was a real laugh - peedie and I even hitched a ride back up the track, although I'm not sure peedie was convinced.........

JOb done, veggie garden looks alot better and first tunnel ground post up - hurray.

Bath, a bit of work then out for tea at a chum to meet dd over there.

Not taking purse, so it will be a non food spend day.

    Hope you're all having fun.

Bah to wtfc - they are a law unto themselves.

    Two bits of exciting news
It hasn't rained today:jand it sunny:jand warm:j.After the last couple of weeks this borders on the miraculous.
As a result of the more ahem 'clement' weather I have now picked some seeds off the perrennial sweet peas and collected a load of seed from the white 'lambs lugs':D
I have a note that says Lucielle/Pippi /sweet peas but I also think I promised white lambs lugs seed to various people. If this is you ,please form an orderly queue ladies, pm me your details and I'll put them in the post.
I've also harvested some nice little carrots that I grew in a couple of troughs. They are only about three inches long but smell lovely and carroty.:j

Forgot to say, I bought 2 'patio tomatoes' back in April. I didn't expect them to be huge but they only grew to about 15" to 18" at best. That said I have just brought 25 decent sized tomatoes in to finish ripening on the windowsill. I've already picked and eaten some. I've never seen so many tomatoes on such a small plant so they may be worth a try next year if anyone is limited for space or even to grow on a window ledge.

One finished nappy cake, the person that ordered it was so pleased. Attached an 'Ingredients' card to it saying exactly what goodies are in it.
