Morning folks!
Have been enjoying doing some work in the peace and quiet while the other two slept late (OH off work this week to do fun stuff with DD before school starts again)
Thanks for the welcome back KK! Of course I remember you - and well done on the GCSE result! What are you going to next?
Pippi your energy amazes me, wish I could get as much done. Could you read New Scientist online, or is there anyone who could pass their copies on to you? I sympathise with your wind-related garden woes, not sure what to do for the best, it might take a radical rethink - how about a sunken garden, or a water garden? I guess those would need too much digging. A big rock garden??
I know there are plenty of proof-readers on here, but if you need help with your papers etc drop me a PM.
Hope everyone else is having a good day!0 -
Me again, Pippi just read your blog and see you already have a pond planned, if you want a lily let me know, I have one with pretty pink flowers growing in an old bath (have yet to make it a proper home) and I'm sure I could send you a bit, it seems to spread quite well.0

Hey Trog, nice to see you again today - oh water lily - I'll be grateful for that when I've dug it out! I hope you're slowly getting there, thanks for the offer of help for proofing - I'm only doing thesis corrections atm, but we've papers to write so, I'll probably ask then if thats OK?
New scientist online, yeah thats good - the kids like reading it too - but I know a chap at work gets it, so I might ask if he'll pass them on. Thanks, inbetween I'll read it online. Energy, um not much here, thanks for the like of the blog - I waffle, but its well intentioned waffle! And, it keeps me writing.
On good news front, I've emailed a local shop about a few 'local cut flowers' and they are very interested and ahve suggested a couple others to try.
Now I do need a list as this morning has disappeared although I've done the banks, hens, cats, made tea and written blog and done a pile of charity emails.
Tidy up utility room of doom or a bit of it
Think about moving tables between rooms or rearrange sunny room or something the room just doesn't work with the table of giganiticness in it
Hang up dd bedding
Move wardrobe eihter now or later
Bit in the garden
Have a look at the hedge I put in earlier in the year and think about which bulbs she wanted, then get in touch
Move more books to the book case I got, not brilliant but OK for holding books
Charge camera
Get a bit of work ready for later when in town
think about what to do about a new gate for the other part of the garden
Keep looking lovingly at my fish box courgettes, which are gorgeous and my first ones this year
Right timer on, 15 minute burstsTotal debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

Pippi - I love your cats, gorgeous creatures. We nearly got a cat last week, but in the end I chickened out as I think I need to wait til after my op to see how sensible it is to have a cat curling around my legs. oh, and also I'm skint. Got paid today and once the essentials have been paid, the car repaired, the tree surgeon paid etc etc, I have £79.59 to last us for food, petrol, any unexpected things until 30th September!!!
There's going to be lots of stripey food shopping from the quartermaster's stores methinks. I have cupboards fit to bursting with rice, pasta, flour etc and 36 tins of baked beans, so we'll be okay, just need milk and fruit and veg. I'm fed up of borrowing from next month's salary all the time.0 -

Bring it on
Luckily DD is away til Sunday so that takes a bit of pressure off to provide the usual 5-a-day variety of fresh stuff, as I have tinned fruit etc that she won't eat but I will
I did just spend 60p on a YS loaf of bread so I will hopefully get 2 weeks of her school lunch sarnies out of that and somehow crammed into our small freezer.
I hate September, there's always lots of school/dance things to pay out for so I've hopefully accounted for those before reaching my £79 figure. I must start leaving my purse at home and just bring in a shiny pound coin for any "emergencies"!0
