    Hi all
    It's sunny!!!!!!!!and warm!!!!!!!!!!!!and not raining!!!!!!!!!!
This is pretty amazing as It seems to have been wet and horrible for ages. Actually got the lawn cut although it was getting that long that investing in a sheep was starting to look like a sensible option.Forecast for tomorrow is................you guessed..wet!
The rabbits ears ,both pink and white are setting seed so I must get some collected ...soon.

Oh dear, same here, been weeks again between cuts and then finally a day which I managed to get the grass done. I hope you get out there and have some fun.

Keiss - I hope you're feeling better and your rest did actually help - lol to pond filling in and trainers!

KC - I guess thats it, I feel a bit directionless when they are off on thier on adventures, I need to work on myself and things for my own life more.................

Helllo, hello, hello to you all :)

  • Money

    YAY one cc under £700 :) lucifer is £668 - :),

Captain is at 1948 - not great but we're working on it - will PAD £5 to each

I've got £350 for rent put aside, and a wee bit in each bank but not much.

Change in WTFC means we're now not entitled to school lunches (which is more in cost than the increased WTFC......) but hey ho, great that we're above the ceiling, in theory. Kids figuring what they want to do re the money, we've decided to start our 'allowance' system again, so they'll have their own budget and if they want to have a cooked lunch thats grand, they've the money for it, but, if they want to save it and take a 'free' packed lunch, that is an incentive to do that again..........

    Sounding good!

I'm glad you didn't buy any food the last couple of days - the point of having cheap food is to use it, after all!

I'm supposedly having more or less a garden day too - what are you planning to do?

Great idea about the lunches and giving them the choice. Yay to credit card under £700 but boo to WFTC (I always read that as if it's a swearword :rotfl:)
Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012.

Indeed KC - well today the cheeries are off to another island, I've a bit of paid gardening work later and I've a bit in my own to do.......

slabs to move to get the veggie garden looking a bit less like a bin bag (black plastic on the ground look) garden - and pebbles to *acquire* from the beach for inbetween the recycled roof slabs

Propagating to do, I've tackled the 'Tolmeia menzeii' (piggy back plant) and I've about 30 cuttings done can ebay them in about a week or so - they do sell well. I am slowly finding out what works and what doesn't........

Potting up to do - a few things

Polytunnel all laid out with canes and measured, need to dig 20 decent sized holes for the posts, but I'll maybe start by doing one

Post to concrete in for a gate at the side, gate to fix again *sigh* me thinks I need a new gate

Yeah it worked last year, I gave them both thier share of thier family allowance for buses, clubs, lunches and stuff and they could either use it for those or they could save/spend it - if they take a free packed lunch, they can use the money for what they like, but they aren't allowed to skip lunch.

What a great idea...............................:) hope you're good today

TC folk a bit of a pain, I appreciate their support but my word they give with one hand and takeaway with the other...........

Oh, later I've a meeting for the charity I'm on the board of, I've been a bit outspoken and told the one being nasty to everyone I'm fed up of it, don't know if I want to stay on the board and am only thinking of resigning due to thier attitude.

Dunno what's up with me, first ex-hubby, now other folk, eek - I figure lifes too short to put up with nasty folk, if it doesn't change, then I'm not going to volunteer there anymore, I'll find something better to do with less confrontation. Its a shame really, I'm going to the meeting with an open mind, but I'm not willing to put up with bad vibes just for the sake of it.

    Eek, I'm a bit hormonal I think................:rotfl:

The jobs sound good, Pippi, and I love the sound of you getting to grips with what sells on ebay and what doesn't. Plus, of course you're not going to put up with that much carp ... life is too short, exactly as you say.

I need to shut the computer down again and do something, but its *really* throwing it down right now - can't go out in that, not even to the front gate, let alone to work! Working on the GTD system a la Cheery might be the answer. I may be gone some time :)

  • Hey up KC hope your rain gone..............?

GV hope your not completely drowned either!

Right, not actually GOT outside yet, but done a fair bit inside including

desteming the onions and got the stems ready for chopping up and freezing (ours don't dry out enough here so I harvest them green and eat the stalks too)
Done a major freezer surf - got a huge pot of interesting soup/ratatouie on the hob
Done a bit mince/soya/veggies for our dumpling tea GAMERCHOP doing later for tea
Got out a fair bit of beetroot (cooked but not gone yet), cheese, bread rolls and ham for the kids
Re jarred the beetroot to two jars which now fits in the fridge
De-fooded the fridge of all things requiring eating today and organised a few cabbage leaves which are looking a bit sad, but once cooked will be fine
Tidied up a fair bit, dd gave me a row for how untidy we were today (oh dear)
    Picked tomatoes
Put onions, now destalked somewhere to dry a bit more - keep an eye on them

Yeah KC long time coming the guy was my ex-supervisor, I've just had enough

Bit lunch to eat, clothes to tidy, plants to tidy and then look at getting out to paid garden job or might go tomorrow - nice pottering tbh - I don't *need* to go out until later............................

Hope you all have a nice afternoon :-)

pottering always sounds so grandad like but it's often very enjoyable isn't it?

no worries about last night, hope things were ok in the end.

sometimes you just need to set people straight, i've worked in so many environments where there's too much niggling/ back stabbing etc and i've tried to smooth waters to keep everyone happy but eventually you just have to tackle it and do what's right for you, and if stepping out of the equation is right then don't feel bad, i'm sure you will find other areas in which you can volunteer which won't poison your soul in the process.
