As for looking like your mum........I just hope I don't end up thinking like her.

Pippi, I think we can all sympathise with the mess/ clutter. Our place is a constant battle against encroaching mess, it can't be helped, it's just the nature of the universe - life is a constant battle against entropy [entropy = the opposite of order, if that's too obscure]

LT sorry to hear about your Dad, hope he's OK.

Mouse bites remember, let's all just take things a bit at a time.

Pippi, thats a fantastic start! See, all you had to do was pay attention to what you wanted - youre ingenious, we and the cellist come in with different viewpoints, and voila, sorted... have a great time this afternoon.

Lucielle's tip about the planks and bricks is great too, I did that when I rented ...

Have a lovely time this afternoon. My word, its easy to stay on the laptop for too long when you've got comfortably settled.... I'm going to shut it down now, and *get* on. I may make another cup of coffee first. And I'm hungry now. Again :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Pippi - don't be to hard on yourself - with no legitimate reason, we down in Greying Towers have got muddles (good word Keiss!) on top of our bourach! It's one heck of a bourach state at the best of times and to make matters worse, we're trying to insulate the loft. Of course, the loft hatch opens out into the (biggest) bedroom and the removal of the old fibreglass nasty thin insulation, along side 100+ years of dust (or so it seemed to DP!) meant leaving bedding, beds etc in that room was not an option. Hence we're up to our eyeballs in bourach and muddles!

Naturally, it's not just a case of stuffing fresh insulation in the neatly cleared loft, as we've now discovered a problem with at least one of the ceiling joists that will need repairing.....sigh. Plus of course, we have brought more 'stuff' into the house as some insulation was on special offer at h*mebase, so we grabbed it ...............sigh. I suppose it is just as well the salesperson refused to sell us as much as we needed, due to it being 'not accessible at this moment in time' (?) otherwise we'd have to move out into the tent on the local playing field!!!!! (shed already fit to bursting).

Now, have I sensibly stayed in this morning, cleaning, tidying, polishing and organising? Have I 'eck, I've swanned off with DP and gathered 10 blooming big bags of horses 'leavings' for the garden!:rotfl:

At least the tomatoes will love me!

Hope you have a great time at the garden event.

    Greying

ps - am I niggled with the h*mebase chap - too right, the pooter said they had 134 rolls in store (we didn't need that many) and we'd gone to the trouble of borrowing (at no cost, but still...) a van to move as much as we needed in one go!
