Ta for the pancake, yummy :)

Whistler! Amazing stuff, thats the No1 resort over there, isn't it?

**resolves to learn at least the baby-ski version of skiing**

We've a similar plan this year, to try and get to cairngorm even once this winter.

    Hope you manage it too.

Hypnos first post in new diary really resonated with me. I'm no where near it yet, but. Life which allows treats, adventures and happiness - I'd really like that

The kids call this period in my life, my post phd maddness. Crazy busy catching up on everything I love, probably too quickly.

I want the post phd maddness to continue, full of adventures, yummy food, art, crafts, and of course flowers.

Wik reminded me, I use to create - small things, but worth a revisit. She still has some of my work, 12 years on, bless her xx

    Enough from me now!!

Ooo when you all ski you will have to come and stay with me and we can have an MSE ski get together Here How great would that be. Anybody recognise the picture on the web page by the way? ;) the ski slope is just a five minute drive away or if you want amazing skiing then Kitzbuhl and St Johann is just 40 minutes away.

Pippi, re the creating stuff, once you give yourself time to get into it then it will just flow. Just like your writing is at the moment. Love the sound of the cauli curry by the way. I love cauli, never thought to use the leaves but you are right, they are edible just conditioned to throw them away

I love the writing for Country Living or similar idea btw :D

I used to give my cauli leaves to a friend with a horse, but did feel a bit bad for not eating them myself!

Yay, how pretty, we all ski, oh natural, kids took to it after one go, I'm not natural, but have that war time spirit! Try and try again, dd went skiing in Italy with school exchange and came on leaps, we want to keep that momentum up and get a few adventures before ds leaves home next year, so we can try and tie in once he's left home and do fun stuff....

I was veggie for 12 years, so when everyon leaves, on their own adventures, I'm more naturally veggie. But living where I have and with making a living from farming/ecology means I respect the land, farming, the hard work and ive learnt to respect my own food chain and love the proper meat/fish in Scotland, so I'll personally never be veggie again but I know we are all individual and i absolutrly respect all views. Carnivorous, Pescivorous or veggisaurus..... Nice though to make veggie based food for me. They all will have ome, but they not love it s much as me!

Ssshh I cant ski  will need to rectify that though. I am hoping to have the keys by the end of January, then I will panic because I have no money to furnish it. Dont think they do car boot sales in Austria :rotfl::rotfl:

Well I have only been fully veggie for the last 4 years. It happened following a full on vegan detox session. I am more veggie because of consumerism than anything else. I still miss things like lamb sometimes and I do like seafood. In fact because of some health issues lately I have literally had the conversation today about reintroducing fish into my diet and perhaps some meats. We shall see.

  • Morning all, interesting cheri, I was purely converted by my ex-hubby, I'd never understood farming, then seeing the hard work, care and quality of life and respect he gave to his charges, converted me. Well that and shearing on a remote (4people) island, no lunch tea at 10pm, roast lamb, hardly any veg, not much choice. But, I'd never tasted meat like it, my mother bought the worst meat ever. Such a difference when it's local......

    Morning all

Work day today all day, need get wriggle on.....

Hope your wriggling goes well, Pippi!

    Hi all

if left to myself I tend to eat more veggie, mainly because it's easier. I'm so lazy if just cooking for myself that I'll just do a tomato sauce and chuck some pasta in.

I've never been skiing either. Never had the chance when younger, the money when older and now don't have much inclination to chuck myself down a mountain attached to a couple of planks!

Mornng all, Pippi have a good if busy day....oh I found the seeds, all nice and snug in the little plastic bags...can I sow them now?

As for skiing, never had the inclination when younger..and certainly not now with my iffy back (and overly-large body!). I would just love walks in the snow and reading/knitting by the fire. :D

Found out last night that I missed seeing an Aurora on Friday night  I had gone to bed early as shattered after finishing weeding the sloping gardens at dad's (:T)...also had to be up @ 6 on Saturday to catch the bus to Inverness. DH found a wonderful piccie taken over Thurso...can't find it atm, but will post link later.

Off to get washed and dressed and then work out just where I start with everything that needs doing!! Food stock-take and menu-plans seem to be a good place to start!

Have a great Monday...whatever the weather is doing wth you.
