Sorry to sound like a stalker but hey that is what I do. Has anyone heard from SA at all in the last few days? Am starting to worry now.She is family you know? Having said that she may just want some time off like Bob and Hovel Lady did. I dont know. I dont want to intrude but just know she is ok.
I hope you are walking with Mr T and he is chasing lots of leaves. Bet the ducks are happy you are around. We miss you but hope you are happy darling SA.Aiming for a minimal spend 20220 -
Sorry it has been so long - I really must get a laptop organised. By the time I get home from walking MrT after work I just flop down - logging on and posting is a mission too far..... Sorry
I am well, don't fret. I have now completed three weeks in the new office and all is well. I have finished training and am flying solo. I am feeling much more confident and at ease with things. New manager is thrilled and trainer has gone back to her own desk. Strangely enough, I think that may have been part of the problem. We are allowed to surf the net at work and by sitting alongside me her access was very limited to the computer and I think this niggled her.
Anyway..... all behind me now (fingers crossed) and moving forward.
I have swopped my expensive varifocals for simple intermediate reading strength lenses and the difference is amazing. I love my new glasses now AND got a £60 refund..... I am so pleased I stood my ground and insisted on them being changed. I just knew that they weren't for me, and I did give them a fair trial
.
MrT is great, freshly bathed with an expensive anti bacterial shampoo that I have bought to try and clear up his baldy patch on his tail. Apparently it can be caused by an overactive gland near the tail which is like a sweat gland and causes the skin pores to block (a bit like acne) so by mega cleaning it and dusting it with a powder it unblocks it all. I think that is the point anyway.
My salary was correct (hooray) and as that is the last time before I get a set monthly salary, my mind is at ease. No more underpayments and waiting another month for it to be rectified. :T
I have got a day off on Wednesday for my bedroom to be painted. I spent an age in B&Q choosing the paint colour. I knew I wanted it to be fairly bold but just couldn't decide on a final colour. Got there now and I am not changing my mind. I also bought a lampshade and when I got home I realised that it had a humongous fitting on it, and no adapterIt seems it is yet another EU thing and it should have had a little adapter fitted inside the larger fitting. So... back I went and I had to swap it for another design. So that was why it was the last one on the shelf originally - it had a bit missing, and numpty went and bought it...... doh!
I changed my lounge around yesterday and moved my Sky box all by myself using an extension kit and a lot of help from techies on Sky forums.... There is a bit of a problem with recording but I think I may have the answer and will tackle that today. Get me!!!!!
Finally got paid from mystery shopper company - nearly 3 weeks late, I am not doing any more assignments for them. Had enough of fast food and no pay.... no thanks. No more surveys either.... too much other stuff going on.
I have decided to remain as the new Chair of the Tenants Federation of my HA but am going to ask the outgoing Chair for assistance. Working full time and doing this is going to be hard, like juggling a lot of balls, his help and support will be invaluable. We have a meeting scheduled this week.
Because I will be using my car a bit more I have decided to rejoin the AA. They sent me a great offer - rejoin for £35 and get a £20 Boots voucher. How good is that? So, I get a full year of cover and peace of mind for £15 - I have noticed that my hands aren't as strong as they used to be and I have been worried about how I would cope if I got a puncture -don't have to worry now.
My WTC claim has been processed. At first it came back as Zero as my earnings were too high last year ( it is based on the previous years income) but after a phone call to the Helpline it has been revised to this years earnings and all sorted. It seems a very strange system - how many people must have different (lower) incomes from one year to the next, and yet there is no provision on the claim form to cover that. You have to have the claim processed before you can report it as a "change of circumstances" ... seems to be a bit of a hassle, if you ask me, for both parties. Anyway.... payments start in October.... yippee!
So there is my positive, cheerful update. I am back to being the normal SA now and look forward to sorting out a way of posting daily that doesn't mean logging on to my ageing desktop.
Speak soon, warm hugs to you all.....
Thanks for the message, Kit.

Glad to hear from you. Things seem to be going well (but if you don't want to be positive and cheerful on here you don't have to be). I am so glad the job seems to be working out - how are you getting on with the other people in the office?
Asking the current chair of the HA for help could be a good move - will make him feel important and less nose-out-of-jointy. Hope you don't clash too much, though, when you have different ideas on the way to do things.
Good news that you've got your specs sorted, and with a refund - what could be better? I am most impressed with your Sky-engineering.
How are you sleeping now?
Are you keeping up your cleaning job? And how are the F-family behaving themselves?
And what colour did you choose for the bedroom?
Enjoy your day with MrT.

I'd love to be a good example - instead, I am a horrible warning.0 -
Am glad things are on the up for you SA - fab news on the WTC, wages etc. It is a canny move involving the outgoing chair too as Wordsmith says he won't be too nose out of jointy and it will make him feel valued.
I hate shops that leave wonky items on shelves - it shows poor stock control.
Itching to know the colour of the bedroom and how the Fatties are getting on.0 -

Heck - you don't give up, do you? :rotfl:
Well - the whirling dervish weekend continues and I am typing this with the new wireless keyboard that I have connected this morning.
The one I have replaced was 8 years old and well past it.
I have sorted out the Sky problem after researching it on a techie forum. It was a signal input problem - I had to disconnect the back of the box and straighten out the wire inside and hey presto - away we go.... would have cost £65 if I had called a Sky engineer out. So that is a total saving of £115. I have moved it and sorted it all myself.....
The bedroom colour is going to be Iced Frappe (!) which is a sort of beige/taupe colour in the Dulux neutrals range. It has a very rich depth to it (I sound like someone off Changing Rooms) and will look good with the gold tones in my curtains. The carpet will stay, as it blends in nicely too. Although cream, it has flecks of browns and greys in it - and no, it isn't dirt! MrT will be getting a new bed too, as part of the makeover. His days of sleeping on my old dressing gown in an old bed are over - we can save those for when he has his kennel sleepovers.
Tidied the garden this morning, mind you the wind helped as I didn't need to sweep the leaves too much before the wind carried them into the park next door. Job done.... too breezy for MrT, he stayed indoors. Fair weather dog.
The other people in the office are really quite nice and although there are lots of different characters and personalities - it works. We are all going out for a meal at the beginning of November, which will be very pleasant. It is a long time since I went out.
I have to admit that it was a bit of feminine thinking that led me to asking outgoing chair for his help. There will be times when I perhaps wont be able to get through for a meeting and he would be a perfect deputy. He is retired and has the time to go to the HA offices far more than I do. Most of my input wil be online, I expect. I am happy to give over a couple of weeks of my annual leave to it though and will use that to attend training days and important meetings. It should work, I hope so anyway.
I can't remember what else you all asked, I will have a look and come back to you if I have missed anything.
Speak soon, look after yourselves, do you hear!
Hugs
