Hi guys....
I feel very guilty for only posting once a day at the momentbut I don't have a lot of time in the morning and in the evening I walk MrT. get something to eat and then just collapse on the sofa. Sorry!
So.... all seemed OK at work. Manager and colleague were chattier and nicer to me than usual which could be a good sign and yet could be ominous. Knowing human nature as I do, it could be going either way. Manager did talk about things that were happening in the next few weeks, so I took it to mean that I was included in the plans, still part time though, so no good. She did say that HR lady was coming up this morning for a "quick chat" with us. Whether she will be brandishing a P45, who knows?
I fired off an email to HA asking for a meet with the Anti Social man, (his job and not by nature) and also to get the recording equipment lined up and would you believe it - the buzzing has stopped and she turned the washer off this morning when I loudly called out "this bl**dy noise!" at 6.20am. Do they do "Nice Neighbour" classes anywhere or "Respect for others" perhaps?
I believe we seriously have generations of people that don't seem to have learned any of this from their parents and live in a ME,ME,ME world of their own. Such a shame
Electrician put in new socket and broke the old one. So, I still have two appliances plugged into one socket and cables running round the wall, but in the other direction to what it was before! He is coming back this afternoon to put in a new socket to replace the broken one. He has taken a key and has been warned about MrT on Welcome Duties. Nothing is ever simple, is it? A nice chunk of wall came away as well with the drilling and so he will have to plaster it as well. What have I started?
I am not hanging around for too long, but WILL be back on tonight to update you all on how my day went. Here we go .......
Hugs

I see your light on, so hope you see this before you go. Good luck for today. Be strong - I know you are. You could be, and I am sure you are, worrying unnecessarily about getting your P45 today. I will be thinking of you again today - if they are mean, me and MrT will go bite their ankles, two terriers together. I hope you get the chance to get your point across during the "quick chat" - a decent meeting would be better. Good luck, SA.
Will write a proper reply later."Green pastures are before me,
Which yet I have not seen;"
I'd love to be a good example - instead, I am a horrible warning.0 -
Good luck sweetie. Hopefully neighbours will calm down and when they go back to normal you can record them.Aiming for a minimal spend 20220

Strange day and strange meeting.....
I have spent most of the day packing choccie bars in the warehouse and loved every minute! We have had an offer on and there were 1700 bars to send out pdq and so it was all hands to the pump, well almost. 4 of us got a little production line going and we were like greased lightning.
The meeting took place at 4.15 this afternoon and was very weird. Is it so wrong to want to apply for a full time job to increase my earnings even if it means changing offices..... I was made to feel like some sort of mercenary, like I had taken my current job on false pretences. What I hadn't realised when I accepted the job was that their idea of being flexible was to do full time when it suits them and then revert to a 3 day week the rest of the time. It plays merry hell with my HB - I get paid the overtime, declare it and then it all gets clawed back from the next payment.... and another couple of trees are felled to account for the paperwork.... and they just don't see that it is a problem for me. God, I hate living hand to mouth...try and explain it to someone who has never been in that position - it is impossible.
Anyway, my probation meeting is next Wednesday and another HR review in a month so I am taking that to mean that I am having my probation deferred again and that I am not going to be applying for any full time jobs soon. A bit downcast but trying to get something positive out of it. Struggling, but trying
The electrician has been back and I have now got two working sockets and a newly plastered patch on the wall. MrT has been busy telling me all about the "intruder", he does make me giggle so.
Signing off now - have a good evening everyone.

Evening, SA. Sorry to hear the meeting was so unsatisfactory. Of course it is not wrong for you to want to increase your earnings and stop yo-yoing from HB and not HB. Have they actually given you a reason for stretching your probation? I can understand how unsettling it is for you. Grrrrr. What can I say? Except, don't let them grind you down."Green pastures are before me,
Which yet I have not seen;"
I'd love to be a good example - instead, I am a horrible warning.0 -
Hi SA
Hm, well meeting obviously not as it could have been but doesn't sound disastrous either - if they are involving you and arranging meetings then clearly they're not planning on giving you your P45 soon. And it might be that even if you don't pass your probation next week, HR will be watching to see that it's not held up unnecessarily. Do you feel that HR are being more or less helpful than your manager?
Anyway fingers crossed for you and am sure your defence team of Wordsmith and MrT will sort them out if required

And a Splat and a biff boff baff from me too. Rotters. You stick to your guns. How would they survive on your salary?Aiming for a minimal spend 20220

Your work seem like rotters - why shouldn't you apply for full time jobs. I must admit that I am still thinking that you are too good for that place and would be better off setting up as a VA.
I seem to be living in my overdraft at the moment - not helped by a massive phone bill from Virgin..it seems they charge me £9 if I dare to dial directory enquiries from my mobile and heaven forbid that I dare dial an 0843 or 0845 number because they will charge me £9 for those too - on one call I was on the phone for 2 mins and got charged £9 and another for 1 min and got charged £9:mad: Now I shall use the internet on my phone seeing as I have unlimited access.
I had my first networking meeting today which was quite scary - one chap I know spent the whole meeting staring at me and he made me feel as though I was in the headmasters office so got even more flustered than usual. Anyway, it can't have been too bad because people have said they are coming back next week:cool:
Made a trip to the posh farm shop today too - I came out with a box of strawberries for £1.50, 2 large dead fly biscuits (fruit shortbreads) and a real cottage loaf made from real bread as opposed to that plastic mush from the supermarket. I came away with a few contacts for the networking breakfasts and then I went mooching - I found myself in a trade warehouse which I promptly joined (I have espied a lovely solid oak desk..but it will have to stay where it is buse it is low on the priority), I came out with a new dustpan and brush for £1.08 which I have wanted for a while and I used it tonight to clean the crumbs off the kitchen floor.:D
I am off to bed soon as I have to get up at the ungodly hour of 5.30am - I have been invited to another networking breakfast which is costing me £20:eek: (I hope they serve it on gold plates) and I have to drive there too but if it means I meet new people and more importantly get their business cards then it will be worth it.
Had to laugh today too, I realised that I co-ordinated with my new logo which is blue and green - by wearing a white skirt, apple green top and navy cardigan the exact same shade as the logo:o Had some photos taken too today which was fun, I don't normally like having my pic taken.
Hope you all have a good day.
PS. The rozzers were hanging about yesterday and it seems they were after a criminal, the police helicopter tweeted me to say they were not allowed to say who they were after other than a criminal (I didnt want a name just a description), anyway I have asked them that next they are hovering overhead if they would like to pop in for coffee:rotfl:0
