Funny cat stories!

Most black cats look reasonably similar, this is my cat Newton. Probably only about 6 months old in this pic.

The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0 -
Our girl cat Mog has a special affinity for drinking straws. The kids like drinking out of the cups with straws in them and if Mog sees them turn their back for any reason she will have it in an instance in her mouth and running off upstairs to play with it and if I throw them in the kitchen bin they get dragged back out again too so we have to make sure the lid is firmly closed as we are forever finding various colours of straws throughout the house.

Yup, mine is HUGE too - very long and slim - he dwarfs my other cat (and most others) - he really is like a wee panther!
I've often wondered if there may be a bit of Bombay in there - he's very affectionate and VERY vocal. (I woke last night to a freight-train purr going on in my ear, and kneading on my hair):D. He's very laid back and loves other cats - but is dominant (which doesn't go down too well with my tortie who thinks she should be boss - thankfully they seem to be getting on a bit better of late).
Sebastian HATES Audrey - he is SO dominant and territorial! I have to keep them separated most of the time, which is a nightmare
And he is also very vocal - to the point where it sounds like he is actually talking sometimes! 0 -

Mine does this! Can near enough have a blooming conversation with him, it's really funny. Never had a cat that was so vocal before. The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0 -

That pic really could be of Archie!Sebastian HATES Audrey - he is SO dominant and territorial! I have to keep them separated most of the time, which is a nightmare
Oh, I sympathise with this, I had to have mine totally separated for 3 months (with a VERY slow reintroduction). It was a nightmare, she was in the lounge (biggest room) and he had the rest of the house. She went in/out the back door, him in/out the front door - one out then in, then the other (couldn't even meet in the garden or the most horrendous fight would break out).
In the middle of it all was the poor dog who couldn't understand why he wasn't able to go in the lounge.gunsandbanjos wrote: »Mine does this! Can near enough have a blooming conversation with him, it's really funny. Never had a cat that was so vocal before.

One of mine a ginger young tom, chester,, loves to sit on the handbasin and watches me clean my teeth and he drools, he loves mint! so I put him a dab (toothpaste) on the side and he rubs his chin over it for ages, in ecstasy, he has also taught himself to pee into the toilet! I can't believe my eyes, he stands on the seat, one foot on each side and squirts down the pan - now how did he know to do that,? he also does it down the bath plughole and the kitchen sink! And also down a slatted drain in the gutter just outside my house....three of my others do a wee in the kitchen sink half bowl too! They must have observed him doing it first, then copied....At least all I have to do is rinse it away...:D One of my others, a tom called bradders, used to follow me and my two rottie pups when walking down a country track very near to my home, just out my back gate, no traffic, he'd go so far then hide in the long grass and howl til we came back, he was like a maternal figure and worried they were being taken away, he would sleep alongside them and 'knead the bread' on them too.0

my cat lily is a daft one, she likes to sit and chitters at mossies or insects and wont actually chase them, just watches them and chitters at them..and its so funny her facial expressions when she does it.
my sisters cat, felix, a young boy is absolutely mental, he loves to drop down in front of people as if to say come stroke me, and then soon as you go to do it, he runs away again then drops again...you could be there all day following him around lol
my other cat pixie likes to sleep half on half off the edges of beds, sofa, chairs...she seems to suspend herself in mid air quite comfy, half her body on sofa and half off and will snooze away quite content. She has never lost her balance or fell doing this. I think she may have been a tightrope walker in previous life, shes very well balanced lol0 -
Love all the funny cat stories.
I have two who are rescues with a bad start. Daniel (aka the Beast of Bodmin) is a full black monster who is pretty large, loves a chat and will assault you in bed if you do not stroke him quickly enough!!! When we took his brother in to have his teeth out (gingervitus) he managed to floor a 7ft cat tree out of loneliness. He can also escape out of any cat box. Vet didn't believe me until he watched him do it. Leaves for entertaining moments in cars as you try and get him to the vets!
Jack is his much smaller brother who has sadly been suffering from acute gingervitus for most of his life. We have just switched his medication and its like we have a new cat! He is making up for all that time of feeling a bit poo and is a complete numpty. He runs round the house calling us every 2 minutes (lovely at night!) and has a very strange miaow due to only having 6 teeth. He has also recently learnt to drag toilet rolls from the bathroom and roll them down the stairs whilst calming shredding them. He has also taken against our bath mats and we keep finding them all over the place. No idea how he moves them as he is a tiny little thing. He has also destroyed cat nip mice recently.
Whilst we were at work one day between the pair of them they managed to find the catnip biscuits in a drawer and eat an entire packet. Oh they were high as kites!Crafting for 2009 items doneOne patchwork blanket, two neck supports, one tea cosy, one knitted bunny, one knitted egg!0 -
This is Magic my Maine Coon boy. He is six next Monday and I've had him since he was a kitten. He likes to carry a make-up brush around with him which always attracts a few laughs. At night he starts off lying on my legs in bed, then turns around so he is facing me. That's my cue to stroke his ears and face, if not he places a paw on my cheek and taps me until I do. Once he is purring loudly, and satisfied he plonks himself between my partner and I and I put my arm around him. It's all very sad

Kora is three in September and loves nothing more than playing fetch with her ball, aka 'ball ball' - a typical Bengal trick. About a week after I got her I cooked myself the biggest ribeye steak Sainsburys had. I was just tidying away the pans before eating and turned around to find madam dragging said steak across the kitchen worktop! Being just a kitten she was struggling. I didn't know whether to laugh or cry!
When my partner and I first starting seeing each other Kora decided to be very welcoming on our first night in together. That would have been fine had she not had diarreh on her paw and tail which left a trail over my cream sofa.....
Harris is our newest Maine Coon and is 16 weeks old. So far he has made friends with Magic and Kora, but is very cheeky! I'm sure I'll have some stories about him soon.
