A huge totally gorgeous, black and white Turkish Van Felix could often be spotted swimming laps in the neighbours fish pond! never bothered the fish, but he did like a nice swim.

:rotfl::rotfl:Bless him, I wonder how he first discovered that he enjoyed swimming!
My cat has fallen in our neighbours fish pond before, trying to lean to far in to see the fish. OH thought it was hilarious, she came running into the house and I had her wrapped in a towel craddling her like a baby :rotfl:

My cat is just generally mental! She will be fast asleep on the floor and then all of a sudden jump up and start running round the house like a kitten (shes 14 nearly).
She hides behind doors and waits for people to walk past so she can jump out and swing round your ankles.

I had to come back and tell you this one about Felix! my son was looking out the bedroom window one summer evening and spotted a vixen and a few yards away were her cubs playing, in the field behind the house! the were having fun chasing and tussling, one of the cubs appeared to be black though! then the vixen gave a bark and the cubs all followed her away down the field - the black one started to come out of the field and cross over to my sons back fence - and it was Felix!

oh I could tell you a few stories about Quackers, he's a character! He 'speaks' to me and we have conversations all the time, I'm sure he understands what I'm saying. He also has a habit of lying on his back wanting his belly tickled just out of reach, and repeating every time you go over to him so you end up following him around the floor!

He won't drink water from his bowl just the sink, shower, bath, glasses, and I have to fill up the bathroom sink for him every morning and night - he shouts to remind me as well!!
If I'm in the bath and lying back with my knees bent so they're out of the water he'll sit on them. If I'm in the bathroom at all with the door shut tight he'll cry to get in, so you need to have the door open a crack at all times!!

His funniest trick though is when he's sitting at the window looking out at the birds he'll 'coo' at them and use his paw in a come here motion, like he's encouraging them over. It never works funny enough!

aww so many little things, and we've only had them a year! Mostly it is little Mia who does the silly things.
Mia falling in the bath. Mia disproving the thing about cats being so sensitive about their litter tray, she will use it anywhere in full view of anyone, her favourite time is while we are scooping the litter - if she needs to go, she'll go. She's even tried to get in the (covered) tray with Lila (who was not amused). The only time she wouldn't use it was when a buzzy fly was stuck inside!! Mia falling off the bed, the sofa, through sheer clumsiness. Mia getting into things she can't get out of (I thought cats weren't supposed to do that?!)
The best is probably Mia's obsession with the toilet. When she hears DH having a pee, she rushes to the bathroom & if the door is open she'll be up standing on the rim before he knows what's hit him. Sometimes she jumps up between his legs which usually results in DH peeing on her head, she doesn't seem to care!! (you know what it's like guys, once you start you can't stop!). Sometimes she loses her balance when jumping up and ends up falling in the bowl...

Lila is more serious; but she has got stuck up a tree this year, and also learned how to get up onto our flat roof. From here she can jump into the spare room which provides a lovely early wake up call for guests... she also pole dances around her scratching post!

I made a little video of their first year with us, lots of silly clips there and in my other vids :-D don't worry, there's no footage of the toilet incidents.

(a little background setting). We have two 20(ish) month old part Norwegian Forest cats. SplodgenessAbounds (Splodge - F) is about 5 kilos, beautifully blotched in orange and black and white. Neville Staple (Nev - M) is nearly 7 kg of black and white floof. He really is a gentle giant though. Next door one way we have Cooper (8 months?, M ginger, gorgeous) and the other way we have Chloe (ancient F tortie with only one tooth - we call her the "furry mushroom" because she sits on the bald bits in the garden when it's warm) and Lucy (8 months? F, similar markings to Splodge but more faded!) In between our house and Cooper's house, there's a 6 ft wall beside a (small) courtyard. We have a window here that we leave open for the cats to come and go through (it's also the house "smoking area"). There's an old dining chair out there so that the cats have an easier time getting up and down.

Nev and Splodge were a bit unsure when Lucy and Cooper turned up, but now they all seem to go and play together - quite frequently we can be standing in three neighbouring gardens at midnight calling for the kittehs. Who all appear from the same direction (eventually) as if they're kids we're calling in from the park.

Now, when Nev was little (6 months or so), and next door (upstairs from Cooper) was being renovated, he got locked in there overnight by some builders. He was rescued the next day but was decidedly wary about the whole of next door. Apparently, he and Splodge used to visit the people who lived in Cooper's flat before, and then it was just Splodge. Nowadays, apparently, Splodge can often be found on next door's sofa, and Cooper and Lucy come in here too. We have an agreement not to actively feed any cats other than our own, but Cooper's had a couple of mouthfuls of our dry food and Splodge has had some of his. (We've told next door to just throw Splodge out if she's annoying them!).

About three weeks ago, Nev was announcing his arrival (as usual) but was making a *really* weird noise too - not quite his "I've hunted something" noise, not his "I'm scared" meow. Just different. I was sitting at the dining table and could see out the window and could see that Nev had something in his mouth and was dragging it behind him too. It seemed to go on for ages. He dropped down onto the chair and I could see that it was one of those dangly things on a stick. He wouldn't give it up when he came in - we had to bribe him with treats (as if he'd hunted a mouse that we wanted to dispose of!).

We saw Cooper's "parents" later that evening and asked if they'd lost a cat toy. They had, but they hadn't known it. He'd been in their house, and nicked it from off the sofa (we'd assumed they'd been playing with it and Cooper in the garden, but no). So we were torn between wanting to tell Nev off for stealing Cooper's toy (!) and proud of him for going in the house he'd been too scared to go in for over a year (!!)

We just settled for buying him his own "toy on a stick". He has a giraffe. He loves it.

(Yes, I'm a mad cat lady with double mad kittehs!)
We may not have it all together, but together we have it all

We have a lovely little black kitten/cat, he's just one so guess he's a cat now? He's so vocal, chatters constantly. Loves playing hide and seek.

The cat i had when i was growing up was a tabby with one eye, he was born like that. He once brought a hare home:eek: It was as big as he was, no idea how he caught it!

I got up this morning & found Daisy had pulled the Peppermint teabag from the empty crisp packet that was in the bin, then proceeded to rip it apart & spread soggy peppermint tea leaves all over the living room!
On upside to this is she now has minty fresh breath!!

Thought I'd share my stories as so many of yours cheered me up

Chester- our 3 legged 17 year old used to carry pencils round in his mouth when he was about 2- this fetish lasted about a year and then randomly stopped

Harry- (our beautiful ginger fluffy boy- RIP) was obsessed by glasses/jugs of water- he didnt want to drink them- just stick his paw in and tip them over:rotfl:

My current cat- Molly- likes birds- not to eat though. She's made friend with the chickens that live next door- next door report her asleep in the chicken coop with the chickens. At my old house I got a knock on the door- one of my neighbours who was concerned as Molly was sitting in the magpie's nest at the end of the road- the magpies were squarking at her- I gave her a quick call and out she popped!!! My neighbours there used to witness Molly's other exploits with magpies- she would sit in the middle of the lawn staring at a magpie at one end- another magpie would creep up behind and peck her tail- she would spin round and stare at that one only to get her tail pecked by the other one:rotfl:

My other little one Guinness who sadly has Lukemia and is one borrowed time did make me giggle the other day (although it is a bit gross)- she now spends most of the days in our kitchen (on the window sill, on top of the cooker)- well she strolled across the worktop to me on thurday- I stoked her head- then she climbed into the little half sink- her whole body- sat down and proceeded to wee there- right in front of me- I had to lift her tail to check she was really doing it. Funny- if somewhat sad as I suspect its another sign that she's got limited time left:(
