I know its not a cat story but...

I went horse trekking last week and there was a horse that was quite funny.

To tie up the horses, we have to use a knot that can be untied in a hurry if there is a problem. This horse, Archie has learnt how to untie even the hardest knot so that he can go eat some more pony nuts. When he does get free, he goes into the tack room, opens up the chest freezer and eats the food until he gets caught.

The owners now tie him up with a more secure knot and so he reaches across and unties all the other horse within reach probably hoping that they will get him the food.

Recently, they put a padlock on the tack room door so Archie can't get to the food. They found him the next time with the padlock in his mouth trying to open it to get at the food.
  • I could go on for days about my lot but last night really cracked me up. One of cats had to go in for some dental work so last night he got his evening jab (he's diabetic) at 11.30pm (usual time as I work 5-11 mon-fri) and took everything biscuits the lot away. Around 3-4am I get woken up as Charley has realised he can't have his mightnight snack and from then on there was no way I was getting ANY sleep. The youngest decides to take matters into his own hands and plonks a pouch of whiskers at his feet (until last night we kept it under the bed.) Charley gave it a nudge or two but the wee one was quite happy to show him exactly how you open them pesky pouches and starts ripping into it. If I hadn't grabbed it off him I'm sure he'd have managed to get it fully open to help poor old Chuck out of his misery.

My mums cat had a thing (like other cats) for sitting on top of the fish tank and trying to bat at the fish through the glass.

One time she jumped on top of the tank but didn't realise my brother was mid cleaning it (so no top) and fell right in. She managed to heave herself out just as my brother walked back in (he'd gone to rinse something out in the kitchen).

Queue my brother going nuts (rather expensive tropical fish tank with lots of fancy fish) at the cat, my mum going 'my poor baby could have drowned' and me and my dad wetting ourself.

Wet cat = drowned rat. I couldn't stop laughing for hours.

Weirdly she's never been on top of the tank again? :P

The are too many to mention.
On taking Orbit to the vets,I stopped off in the seaside car park & let him out of the carrier,he sat on my lap for a good hour or so,looking out at the sea & all the goings on.

That reminds me of a couple I took of my cat on a camping trip...

I have two cats - Murray a white and black 6 year old (going on 6 months) boy-cat, and Beaumont a black 12 year old (she's always been a grumpy old moo) girl-cat.

They both make me chuckle in different ways:
Beaumont talks (meows) to anything thats willing to listen, usually at 3am - spiders, toy mice, socks...
Murray loves to pull the insoles out of my shoes, so there are usually two or three strewn around the hallway in the morning.

Beaumont acts like a delicate, fairy queen until dinner time when she turns into a herd of elephants gallumping down the stairs.
Murray is most definitely not a hunter. He would rather watch something crawl around on the floor, then sit on it. After a few seconds he stands up expecting to see said 'thing' (ant, spider, moth, fly - fill in the blank as you wish) still crawling, but is surprised to find its not there. He then goes to sit on my bed, where 'thing' decides its had enough of having a free ride in Murray's fur and of course its far nicer in my bed, ready and waiting for me to climb in later that evening.

Both love dragging their toy mice around the house and I've often gone to work with a couple in my handbag where the cats have hidden them, or trodden on a soggy toy as I've climbed out of bed (although better than treading in a soggy something else!), or had the fright of my life as I've put my foot in a (insole-less) shoe thinking it was some creepy crawly!

I made a little video of their first year with us, lots of silly clips there and in my other vids :-D don't worry, there's no footage of the toilet incidents.

I just watched the video and had it on full screen, my cat was sat on my lap and really staring at the screen. She even started 'growling' at your cats :rotfl:

One day, when my OH was coming home, our cat Miko was so excited she tried to run up the stairs to beat him to the door and she ended up hitting the top step face first. She hasn't done it since!

Our new kitten, Jack, loves boxes. He was playing with Miko the game of cat tag e.g. hit Miko then hide in the box. During the game he totally missed the box and ended up lying underneath it running in circles. Daft cat lol.
