Tell him you had to park on a yellow line/ unauthorized parking area as you couldn't park on the driveway. Say a warden was about to give a ticket luckily but dont want to take the risk again and have to park on the driveway.

If he gives the same excuses, tell him you are happy to help him move the car to the roadside. If he moans that he will get in trouble with the council, say you have helped him for 6 weeks and cant risk a ticket so are being more than fair.

Give him a final date to move the car by then move it yourself and let the council deal with him.

Unfortunately this wouldn't work, he lived here for just over 2 weeks so knows that there isnt any form of lines/parking restrictions nearby.

Well I have sent him a message, telling him that after all we have done, giving him somewhere to stay, sorting out a room for him, lending him our car whilst his was off road (only when he lived here), not to mention feeding him, that we have had enough of him taking the p out of us by refusing to move his car and I have given him till the end of Sunday to remove the car or we will move it out into the street. DH has also text him saying he needs to get it moved too, no reply to either of us as yet as apparently he has started working today.

Gawd..... This sounds like a badly written plot for a certain TV soap.

Guy loses mrs. Guy then loses job. Car then breaks down and your hassling him to move it. Give him a break he's probably feeling the worst he's ever felt in his life and he has his "friend" to deal with as well.

Failing that as mentioned already stick it on the road.....

Have you thought about stepping into his shoes here for a moment......... probably not, he's a friend and if one of mine went through this and I considered them a true friend then this minor inconvenience would not bother me, for one second..... perhaps you need to look at yourselves...
