Thanks LT, have just replied. I at least have the tarot to bring in some income (she says not having done any this week), the only down side being its not a set amount.

Thanks Keiss, if it wasn't bad enough already my mobile has stopped working! I need it to get phone calls from agencies! If it was the handset that would be easily solved I could put the sim into one of the ancient handsets I have kicking about (worth 0.00 on envirofone) but no it has to be the sim itself doesn't it?

So cue a phonecall to customer services who treated me like a complete muppet, so went to the shop. Now I must be with the only provider thaat CANNOT give me a replacement sim instore it must be sent to me which will take 5 days!!!!!! They didn't care at the inconvenience and i was slowly losing the will to live and my temper in the shop as the sales person calmly phoned customer services , claiming they can only sell you the phone not fix it!!!

So now I am really down, OH moaned, told him to shut up need positive not yet more negative. :(

My eating is erratic at best, since wednesday I haven't eaten a full meal. Today's been better. Last night was sausage and mash. I ate one and a half sausages and a mouthful of mash and that was me. Today, I picked OH up from work and he wanted to stop for a roll from a snack van (we do this or mcd's on a saturday, its our 'thing'). I didnt feel that hungry, asked him to get me a packet of crisps (which I did enjoy) but only ate half the pack. Lunchtime since we were out (and trying to get my phone fixed) OH had a burger, chips, side and fizzy drink. I had a child's chicken wrap and a few chips and struggled to finish that. Although its not really healthy stuff I'm having I'm going more with what I fancy as it means I might eat more (i.e. I had a slice of pizza yesterday). I am finding I'm drinking more water and squash. Noticed today my jeans are now quite loose on me and my watch is also looser than it was.

Thanks Keiss, going to get some surveys and clicks done and see what freebies there are on the go (they always cheer me up when they come through the door).

It will be, if you're eating so poorly.

uni, i know it's hard but you really must take care of yourself, you must eat properly otherwise it really won't help you in the long term. well done for giving OH a short sharp shock treatment, sounds like hes jealous that you're attention is on you and your getting a new job not on him. idiot!

Lordy, look what happens when I'm away from the forum for a while!

First up, I'm so sorry to hear about your job - it's a huge understatement to say that it sucks, but it does and I'm not afraid to call it! ;)

Now *rolls up sleeves* following on from the far more appropriately named 'ta da' list (nicely done, LT), there are some other bits and pieces to remind yourself:

    1. The redundancy relates to the role, and not you!
I mention this one straight out of the gate because it's hard to remember that when you're in the middle of the chaos.

In your specific case, they obviously think well of you - both your team and your management, or else they wouldn't even be considering alternatives for you.

    2. Ain't nothing going on here that you can't cope with...
I barely know you, and it's still clear to me that you are a strong, level-headed and talented person.

Sure, life might overwhelm sometimes, but that's only until you remember to break it down into bite-sized chunks (just like you've done with your debt), and then no problemo!

    3. There's always time for a spring clean!
And no, I don't mean of your house!! While you're getting your head round this change, take a bit of time for yourself (as part of the pure tlc which Dr Nora is prescribing ;)), and think forward a few years...

...don't worry about OH, SS or anyone else but yourself. Yes, I know it's an alien concept to focus on yourself, but stick with me here....

...now, run through some life options, and see what makes you smile and/or go 'ahhhh'. Jot it down/draw it out (stick people optional) and see what you've got. At this point, don't constrain yourself in terms of money, people, jobs, etc.

So, what've you got? Now, take a deep breath, and a sip of wine/water/moonshine and take an honest look at your life right now, warts and roses included. If where you are now, is leading you to your 'ahhh/smile' point, then no probs. If it isn't, then now is an amazing time to look at what changes (large or small) would set you on the right path.

For example, the baby subject - the good thing about being the woman, is that no matter what anyone else thinks, the choice is entirely yours whether to have one or not, or indeed, whether to have one right now, or with the person you're with right now. It's not an issue which should be used as leverage in domestics (by either party), or something which should be forced on someone if they aren't sure/ready/up to snuff (again, on either side).

If your future 'ahhh' self is surrounded by nappies, then track the path back to where you are now, and ask yourself whether your current life is capable of leading you there - and if not, what needs to happen in order to get you on the right track.

    4. The future is largely yours to control.
This one is a biggie - and the easiest to forget when you're getting a bit beaten by life. Outside of acts of God etc., you are in control of your own destiny - and even with acts of the Great Ferret, you are still in control of how you rise up to meet them (seriously, don't stand under a tree in a lightening storm...).

Right now, you should be lavishing yourself with tlc, as should everyone around you (send OH my way, and I'll clock him round the ear for you) - this isn't about wallowing, mind you...it's about giving you space to remember that you're fab, and there ain't nothing going on here that you can't handle.

Next you need to remind yourself that while you can't control the situation at work, you can certainly decide how to deal with it - excellent start on the CV, and like LT, if there's anything on that I can do to help, then please just pm me. Also remember to join/update your LinkedIn profile as it's one of those places often surfed by headhunters etc. Don't be scared to use third party help on this (provided it's free!), as it really is so much easier to sell other people's talents rather than your own (Z - behave!). And finally:

    5. Remind yourself that this to shall pass.
Ok, so you've been here before. Sure, that's pretty sh***y, but on the flip side, it means you know that you can cope with this. In fact, not only can you cope with this, you can darn well shine.

    Love n' hugs,

    Nora.x

    HI Uni
Really sorry to hear about the job. As others have said they must think alot of you for them to be trying to find roles for you in house.

Will you get a bit of a pay out if you decide to not take any of them up? Can you live on a reduced salary? Ie if you were able to do more tarot, or maybe some mystery shopping to make up the short fall?

I am sorry that your OH is being such a git AGAIN. You can't use a child as a bargaining chip and to be honest, I wouldn't even consider having a child with a man who is, to be honest not really all that nice to you. And also has so much baggage coming with him. Which he seems incapable of sorting out either (SS, and SD). I have thought for a long time that you could do better Uni, and I would look carefully at the points knitting nora made. Crossroads in our life don't happen very often, and one should really take stock before deciding what path to take.
