Ok, just posted the pics of my triffids on Pippi's diary to see if she can help identify what they are.
Money stuff:
- Bank balance checked (not as high as I'd like but hey ho)
- Have cheque (£142) to pay in tomorrow that OH says I can have towards my holiday to Blackpool with my Mum :j
- Tarot money due this friday (due to bank holidays), onlly £5 but I think I may just put it straight to cc.
- OH paid me £90 he owes me and its already in the bank, I'll get the rest (£20ish) at end of this week.
- Gran insisted on giving me £10 to go towards petrol (I tried refusing but it would have cost her more than double that for a taxi), so that's going towards petrol as I'm nearly out after OH filling the tank up week before last.
Other stuff:
I've been trying not to waste stuff but sometimes its really difficult with a very picky OH. I was appalled at the amount of stuff (bread (1/2 a loaf) and pastries (2 pain au chocolat that were YS) and 8 yoghurts I had in the fridge in the garage as SS would sit and munch through 4 in one sitting and forget about everyone else), I threw out.
I have been bad, I bought (Lidl's own) Special K on friday, I've had 2 bowls and there is only enough for 2 bowls left, SS has wolved through the rest. Why is it its always stuff I like that gets wolved? So, bad me, I've hidden itin another cereal box I know he won't go near, bran flakes with strawberry!
I seriously need to do something about my weight, some clothes are getting a little slacker and today I have a t-shirt on I haven't had on in ages as I felt self-conscious about my arms. But I decided to weigh myself (fully clothed) at my Gran's........14 stone!!!!!
I'm in shock, I'm still using my pilates weight and I can see the difference in my arms (my bingo wings have nearly gone and my wrists are slimmer as my watch isn't tight anymore). I've started using the calorie counter app on my phone again as I really need to control this and get my weight back down. For my health as well as my bank balance (i.e. get back into some of the lovely clothes I already own!).CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. glad that the interview went ok, fingers crossed it comes through for you. sorry about the tights though, itsn't that always the way.
i hope you didn't through out the yogurts without checking them out first young lady, they certainly last a lot longer than the use by dates. they're just a bloomin marketing ploy. Could you also not have frozen the pastries and bread? they can be toasted and warmed through and be just as nice. As you can tell it takes a lot for me to chuck stuff out. lol0 -
I didn't check the yoghurts LT and the freezer is full (Uni hangs her head in shame
). I've realised I still have kippers in there from last year, I think I may make a big pot of cullen skink to use it up as I tend to bring more back from Blackpool (3 weeks to go
). Tonight's dinner I think might be salt and pepper chicken from the 2nd takeaway secret book. The recipe in the first book was awful! I also have 4 sausages to use up so will cook those in a high sided frying pan, chop them, add onions, peppers, herbs from the garden and some stock and that should do OH for his work lunch. He's eating a lot at the moment. I made him 2 tuna may and salad rolls and he also asked if he could take a small portion of spag bol that was left over, 3 cans of diet irn bru (will explain that one in a minute) and some fruit!
I was volunteering yesterday and after dropping OH off (not noticing the ridiculously cheap petrol near his work 130.9!), the low petrol light came on so I stopped at Mr M's for fuel (133.9), they had a deal on diet irn bru (OH and I love the stuff). 8 cans for £1.80! Thats cheaper than home bargains. The garage only had one pack left so drove round to the store and picked up another 7 packs! So thats 64 cans for £14.40, it might sound like a lot but OH kept buying cans in his work from the vending machine at 60p a time. When I explained that in a week he'll go through up to 20 cans of fizzy stuff (he was pretty shocked at this but it is a pretty physically demanding job), and that if he bought the 64 cans from the vending machine it would cost £38.40 so by buying them upfront its saving £24!
Well, I'm back to keeping a food diary. I find this the easiest way to keep an eye on my weight. I really need to lose quite a bit of weight. Unfortunately I also seem to have a bit of a bug, upset stomach. I gave OH quite a fright last night, so taking it easy today (well easy-ish).
I've opened a new ISA as I mentioned before I've opted to get the interest paid direct to my account to go to my cc.
I'm going to look out some stuff to go on ebay (meant to do it last weekend), tidy kitchen, maybe put up my new bedroom curtains (I got these for £1!) and sort out dinner for tonight and inbetween times do some tarot and job applications.
I called the agency yesterday and she said she'd call the company I had the interview with. As she's not called back yet I'm assuming no news is good news. Please everyone, keep your fingers crossed and send good vibes.
I've been doing surveys on onepoll for ages but I've got to £29 and I haven't had any surveys in ages. Anyone else find this once they get close to a payout?CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. Where has today gone? Done job apps, a test that one sent me this morning, called about my pension and sorted some paperwork. Made OH's lunch for tomorrow, taken chicken out the freezer for dinner tonight (was going to be salt and pepper chicken but can't be bothered so chicken curry), soaked my 2 white shirts in some biotex and returned some phonecalls. But.....
I have not managed to put my new curtains up and I still have to straighten my hair (washed it this morning and left it to dry on its own). I need to quickly tidy the kitchen and clean the grill then go get OH. Curry turned out well but my rice was slightly mushy. Sitting down watching tv and about to paint my nails, well touch up my nails (they are still blue diagonal stripes) and put a top coat on.CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. VERY quick update, £5.93 through from tarot. I may just keep that in my account for the moment. Off to volunteer this morning and I'm usually on the road by now (10 mins up the road) but had to set up new router we got (OH refuses to read ANY instructions).
Hope everyone's well, what's everyone upto for the weekend?CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. Sorry to hear that Uni. It couldn't have been the right job for you - the right one will be along soon
.
Emz xx0 -
I hope so Emz and thank you. Feeling pretty low, OH got permission from his work to phone me (they are funny about calls outwith breaks where he works). He's quite worried about me.
Got letter from hospital, getting my wrist checked out next week. Am doing a little tarot at the moment, made a few pounds but not a lot. I don't know how the ones who do it full time actually rely on it as its not a set wage (or maybe that's just my preference knowing what I'll make).CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera.
