Thanks Lucielle. I borrowed "Sushi for Beginners" by Marian Keyes, good book but I prefer my favourite authors. Jane Green (Beach House, Second Chance, The Love Verb which I bawled my eyes out at) and closely followed by Sophie Kinsella (undomestic goddess).

Just been to McDs to get ice cream and their machine isn't working.... No fair.

I haven't heard of any of them. I'm a trashy novel kind of girl, Jodi Picoult, Martina Cole a spot of John Grisham etc. I must admit I haven't read very much recently.

Boo to Maccy Ds being broken.

Finally got my car fixed. SD causing chaos again, she can get on with it. Very glad she's not part of our lives. Reminded OH that she only does this sort of thing to make sure she's centre of attention and ruin other people's special day (birthdays, christmas etc), and this time its SS's 21st. SS might not have been the best lately but i) he doesn't deserve to have his 21st ruined and now it is ii) he might have put us through hell but its mild in comparison to what SD put us and the rest of the family through for years before we finally all said enough.

Home from food shopping, got a few bits and pieces to try another recipe from the Takeaway Secret book they talk about on the OS board. Did the garlic cream fettucine last night (OH loved it), tonight is doner kebab.

Keiss, how did you get into invigilating? If you don't mind me asking.
I invigilate at the college I used to work in the IT centre (before being made redundant last year, along with everyone else - 43 of us in all :eek:)

A general email came round our centre asking if anyone was interested, that was over 18 months ago, and I've been doing it regularly since. I really enjoy it, most of the time it's quite relaxing, but sometimes it's a nightmare!!! My husband jokes it's the only time I am quiet except when I am sleeping!! :rotfl:

You could contact some local colleges and schools to see if they need anyone. Here in England we are in the middle of A Levels and GCSEs, so it's pretty hectic at the moment, though I could (and probably should) have taken less hours...I just feel I need to take as many hours as I can, as some months I don't do any at all (eg April and of course the summer holidays). It's ot great pay, but it is something, and it keeps you in touch with the rest of the world, even if some of them are crazy teenagers! :D Most of them are lovely...honest!

So a busy weekend followed by a hectic week, roll on next weekend. Knowing my luck, the warm (hot!) weather will be over by then. Mind you, I wouldn't have liked to have worked for very long in the garden today, it reached over 28 degrees here this afternoon

Right need to get to bed, working in the shop tomorrow. Hope the boss is pleased with what we did on Saturday while he was away in Ireland. Don't think I did any major slip ups, and I did sell 4 machines...I'll find out tomorrow if I did.

Should be fun getting home tomorrow...the Olympic torch reaches the town where I work about 5/6pm...just when everyone is going home, so with half the roads closed, it's going to be chaos!!

    Have a good week x
