    AN UPDATE:

A woman just phoned me from Geoffrey Parker Bourne Solicitors (she used my name), i said it was me, she then asked me to confirm my Address and Telephone number - i hung up.

I presume that was the right thing to do? / Did i do anything wrong? / What can i expect next? - More calls?

Yes just hang up, or say hang on I will just get them and then go make a cup of tea and let the dicheads sit there waiting!

Once they start ringing its normally near the end of the game. If you read around many people have been contacted by phone and post as they are concerned, however once they have either ignored them or told them to take a long walk of a short pier they cease.

If the calls become bothersome you can always write telling them any debt is denied, and to pass the information back to the original chancer. Inform them that if they do not desist a complaint of harassment will be made.

I don't know if these DCA's actually know these debts are factitious or if they don't care?

From the quoted boxes you provided in that link, and my letters / experience - they seem to break most of those?

Yes you did do something wrong, you forgot to tell them to Foxtrot Oscar then use a very loud whistle.

Listen they are private people working for a private company on minimum wage, why are you so scared?

Just read the threads on here to see what the parasites are like. just tell them to FO the next time they call and enjoy doing it, them ringing you is costing them money.

All the more reason to just put the phone down rather than actually hanging up. :p

Yep they do break harassment laws, and the BPA and OfT Codes of Practice. They should not even try to pin it on the registered keeper and they know it. Answer the phone but do not tell them who was driving.

But next time they ring do not put the phone down, just do as esmerobbo said above. No need to write, just be very assertive and calmly inform them that any supposed debt is denied and that if they do not desist with ALL contact now that they know the debt is denied, a complaint of harassment will be made to the authorities.

Harassment is a criminal offence, make it clear you know that their contact is harassment and do not let them lead the conversation in any other direction, do not reply if they ask why it's denied, who was driving, etc. Just keep repeating the same sentence again and again. :p

Tell you what though, it would be interesting to know what these solicitors actually say on the phone, what lies may be told. You could start off by saying 'yes I am the registered keeper of that car as you clearly know, what is this rubbish all about?' I would love to know what they then say (don't fall for it but make a note of it, could be interesting!). THEN hit them with 'the debt is denied...harassment' line.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

    Dear all,
Thnk you for all the advice and pointers given on this site - I am still trying to remain strong even though I have also received a solicitors letter.

I had parked in an industrial park along with hundreds of other football fans only to return to a parking ticket. At the time all the industrial units were closed and I had even parked in a lay-by so felt that I was not doing anything wrong  ! Obviously lots pay up, so they keep on picking on people.

Having read this site I felt the best thing to do (as I am doing) is ignore it all however its getting harder to convince my partner - especially if the next step is for them to ring us up.

I personally feel annoyed that they are putting us all through this level of stress and wish we could manage to turn the tables and threaten them for dishonesty or a breach of human rights...

    Why get so stressed?

Just totally and utterly forget about the ticket. Ask yourself this, if they threatened to take as many people to court as they claim they do the courts would be bursting. They are nothing but liars, thieves and conmen. Do you seriously think a judge would award them a win? You would see Elvis serving burgers naked in your local MCD's before a judge did.

Listen they are private people sat in a manky private office just trying to EXTORT money from you. They do not have warrant cards, they cannot arrest you they can do absolutely nothing but issue threats, that's it, pure threats. Do they know YOU were driving the car? I seriously doubt it.

If i was your neighbour and said you had parked in front of my house and sent you an invoice would you pay it? No, thought not.

Get on with your life and stop worrying. Do what i'm doing, open a nice chilled bottle of wine and just chill safe in the knowledge it's costing THEM money to chase you and smile when another begging letter comes through the door. Just think it's cost them some more money then bin it.

    Hi guys,
I'm in exactly the same position as the first post, exact same tickets / letter from geoffrey parker bourne solicitors etc, however I received another letter today :

Hopefully this will be the last one, I have ignored all correspondence to date and fingers crossed they will stop pestering me !

Please let me know if you have had any developments with yours !

    Best,
    Pete
