Just reading a lot of your comments. I have just bought some washable towels from a company in Devon. Party In My Pants. What can I say they are just fantastic. So easy to wash, come in loads of funky colours, I can't stop raving about them to all my friends. As I live in Exeter I even get free delivery by bike! Check them out at partypantspads.co.uk there is a us site too so make sure you get the right one.0

oh my goodness! I had no idea these were available. Same as mooncups, what a fantastic idea.
I've just ordered 5 pads off wee notions and I love them already and they aren't even here yet LOL.
I feel so silly because when my eldest son was born 17 years ago I was so religious about buying washable nappies but I never even thought about feminine hygiene products!
Ahhh well, no point in dwelling on the past, I now feel silly for being excited about this *new* product hahaha.
Thanks to the OP for starting this :T
I did notice looking through the links, some are not working now because the thread is a few years old. Any chance of some updates on where everyone buys theirs?
(Feeling as colourful as my new pads!)0 -
Hi all, i really want to try some of these but im worried as my periods can be V heavy for a couple days and even with the hardcore disposable towels it can end up leaking onto my underwear and i have to change them quite alot.
Any suggestions which ones i should go for?0 -

My mother and daughter thought i was mad when i excitedly informed them the other day, that i had placed an order for 5 washable sanitary pads. I ordered mine from Weenotions too and i am eagerly anticipating their arrival. On the order update email i received it did state that normally delivery can be between 2 and 3 weeks. May have to wait till next month to use them
The colourful and funky deisgns are what really sold the idea to me, i'm hoping before long my DD will want to try some tooGrocery Challenge for October: £135/£200

I started using washable sanitary protection 3 years ago (knew my university bursary would come in useful for something
) I find them much more comfortable than the disposables and a lot less itchy! (I'm allergic to the bleach on dispoables) I also love the funky colours, makes me enjoy my period a little more! My original ones were Wemoon that I ordered from Plush Pants but my next will be from Weenotions as there is a much wider range of colours and fabrics:j
I also have a mooncup, (my second after buying the wrong size the first time) and I really like it, although I find that the stem sometimes irritates me, even though I've practically cut it off altogether. I have found that stopping using tampons has also reduced my cramps to a more bearable level, which is always a plus in my book! I also heard about washable tampons but it seemed like a bridge too far to me.
Frugal fanatic!

I've got to laugh at this thread really... not in a bad way, I think the idea of re-usable ST's is great. It's just that we seem to have gone full circle. When womankind first started using sanitary products, they were old rags that were washed after use. I can remember my mum telling me about re-usable ones and 'belts' that held them in place.
I'm sure they are much more sophisticated in their design today tho'. Thankfully, it's something I no longer have to worry about so not only is the environment all the richer but so is my purse0 -
