Little Dog is spending the morning at the vets :( He has to have a bunch of blood tests and an ultrasound :( I hate leaving him there as he gets soooo upset - doesn't like being away from his mummy :(

........ and I'm not keen on being up and out at this time of the day either :rotfl::rotfl:

I like cuckoo for this colour but I'm way too rubbish at putting on nailvarnish neatly to use colours that dark much! glastonbury looks pretty bit it's hard to see from the bottle pic i found.

I know this has been a bit of a venting about boyfriends thread at the moment and I feel like moaning because mine's being annoyingly moody this morning :( You'd think I'd told him to go to work naked this morning by the reaction I got from asking him to pay the rent (cheque / online bank transfer).

We're moving house and he's stressed because work is boring/really quiet and he'd rather help with moving but shows no sympathy for it meaning that I'm doing most of it alone. I feel like my efforts moving/phoning utilities/ cleaning/generally sorting crap out are being really unnappreciated. But no, i'm not allowed to be tired / fed up because I don't have to 'go to work'.

And also the new flat's a bit annoying because they're still changing/fixing windows. They're apologetic and keeping out of the way but it's a bit annoying because we only wanted to rent the flat from next weekend but they asked us to take it (and pay rent obv!) from earlier.

Probably one of the more moneysaving things I've posted in this thread cause now I've got rid of the desire to buy things to cheer myself up :rotfl:

Contact you landlord and politely say that you agreed to accept the flat sooner than ideally suited you on the understanding that it was going to be ready, and now you find it isn't. Ask whether they would be able as a goodwill gesture to offer you a rebate on the rent for the first month.....they may just say no, but on the other hand they may well say yes! Worth a try to make up for the inconvenience. Good luck with the move!

Sarah Hope little dog is OK and back home soon.

    Carolyn CONGRATULATIONS!

Quite disappointed after my recent good run - nothing has been UU'd this morning! :p Shower gel will go soon though as there's hardly anything in it now.

Thanks EH. I'll try bringing it up. If we could start paying rent from when the windows are done that would be a lot better (would actually be when we wanted to move in). i wasn't sure if i was being unreasonable suggesting it but it's good to have a 2nd opinion!

We're paying rent on 2 flats from the 20th - 30th when we don't really need/want both at the moment. We wanted the new one from about the 25/26th. It's useful to move stuff gradually but not really worth the extra £100-ish it's costing. It's a LOT of money to us!

LL will probably be over there anyway.

It's not unreasonable at all - particularly as you've ended up having to pay two lots of rent and it sounds like realistically the new flat wouldn't really be a nice place to live right now if you wanted to! Good luck - I hope you get something back!

  • Another OUT for me - Lush Angels on Bare Skin exfoliating cleanser. WBA as it's part of my regular skincare routine and I think it works really well for me. It's nicely scrubby but still has quite a luxurious feel to it. The only bad thing about it is because of it being handmade you can get variations between the pots in terms of the amount of scrubbiness and 'earthy' smell.

Thanks, yes one bedroom was missing 2 windows for most of the first day of the tenancy. breezy ;) It's still not got curtains or handles on the windows.
It looks like we'll be cleaning up the general dust from decorating ourselves before we can unpack properly too.

TBH it was Mrs LL who asked us to move in earlier and Mr LL who's been over there til 10pm every night for a week trying to fix things. He'd probably have been happier to have us move later. He offered to take some boxes over for me today in his car but I always feel awkward asking for favours!

    Morning all,

Congratulations to Carolyn on your engagement

SJP I'm really pleased to hear Immy Lou's feeling better :) It's so awful when little ones are ill :(

All this talk of hair colouring is tempting, but I'm boring and like my brown/black hair :o!!

MarzipanFish I'd say EH is right and try to get a discount/rebate of some sort.

EH Sorry your speedway meetings were a bit rained out :(

Sarah I hope Little Dog is ok *hugs*

Gillette Shaving Gel (Full Size) - WIBA? Yes. I have one left in stash that I got free with my epilator from BzzAgent (which I love!)
Pantene Aqua Light Conditioner 75ml - WIBA? Maybe. I have one mini conditioner left in stash which I'll put into use and then that's it conditioner side.
Organic Surge Peach and Passion Shower Gel 250ml - WIBA? Yes. I bought this at the Vitality Show earlier in the year and I have one other Organic Surge one left, but I've got too many shower gels (see earlier posts re: sister2 :rotfl:) Onto a (100ml?) Elemis Sp@ Home from my sister2.

3 x SD Nail Varnish Remover Wipes (20s). These are to take on holiday with me. Plus I didn't have any in stash
1 x 250ml SD Nourishing Nail Varnish Remover. Cutex one is spluttering. And this is awesome so far - just wiped off (though polish was only one day old). (Mix & Match 2 for 1.99, but one pack of wipes and remover needed!)
1 x Andrea Fulerton Nail Tattoos (1.99) (I used Rimmel Cranberry Zest as a base):

To the wedding I wore a red shalwar kameez (traditional Punjabi suit if you're not sure :o) with orange embroidery (might post pic to my photobucket later if I can decide I actually like any of them!:o). It was actually quite good, though tbh weddings slightly depress me atm :o Got sister2's friends wedding in a couple of weeks. My only ever second English wedding  Now I'm thinking if a sari is ok? I'm not really into dresses (well definitely not sleeveless ones - short sleeves are ok though). Any tips would be appreciated!
