The trouble is the bus station is a 20 min walk from my house (uphill coming home) and then its a 45 min bus journey and then a 10 min walk to the office. Its stupid when you think about it as its a hell of a lot closer to me than the centre of Cardiff but takes twice as long to get there.
The thing is the job itself is better (as not in a call centre) and it will have a hell of a lot more opportunities for me to progress and also the hours being much more normal, although in all honesty Im not holding my breath because I think they are ideally looking for someone who can drive, which of course I cant. They didn't say as such but it did mention on the job role that you would have access to company car and phone so I assume from that I might be expected to drive places to meet clients so that could really let me down
On the subject of buses though  OH needs me to go up to this place in old Cwmbran to get some stuff for him.....thats fine except the damn buses! Around Newport and even to Cardiff you can get the council owned buses (£3 for a day ticket). Except for some stupid reason, despite Cwmbran being 4 miles down the road those buses won't run there and I have to get stagecoach - now stagecoach are an absolute joke, to get litterally 2 miles down the road last time it cost me over £5 return Im sure a taxi would have been cheaper. Im actually dreading the cost it will be this time as its a whole 4 mile away - Probably more like £8.....I just don't know how they can even begin to justify that when cardiff is a good 15+ mile away and is a third of the price
In 2005 I landed a job working for the local college where they had said they would prefer a driver - my pal had also worked for them and knew they had non-drivers on that team. I was interviewed by an old boss with whom I got on great and I landed the job. Pity it's not in Fairwater, but as Cardiff is the best provincial city in the UK for shopping - imo- lucky you! Good luck with the interview.
TG, we don't have Stagecoach in this area any more. Arriva took them over.
OK, back on topic. An UU. A LHJ has ended! :jThe 300ml VO5 Rosemary/Fresh Mint Refreshingly Pure Elixir shampoo for normal or fine hair that turns greasy. WIBA? No, the shampoo is fine but the bottle was really annoying. Twice the top fell off and decanted a huge splodge into my hand in the shower, and the slanted cap meant it had to be wedged when upside down for the last month. It was a pound shop job, so I can't complain too much.
Another UU Wilko Light Musk Bodyspray. WIBA? No, 'light' meant 'almost non-existent', the scent was barely there and it was like spraying myself with propellant. Unusual, as most of Wilko's sprays are very good. I've got a silver Kindred Spirit to use up next, the one that smells like CK OneErma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
Congratulations carolyn
Great news rosemary, what a relief! Now you can look forward to the graduation
Loving the nails sawan, as always
Good luck with the interview charlie! If they ask about driving it may be worth saying you'd be willing to learn and they might then offer to cover the cost of the lessons, or at least subsidise them - I know a couple of people whose companies have done that for them.
No OUTS for me today but a lot of splutterers due to go this month methinks. I picked up one from HOF and one from Debenhams - there is a Benefit Counter in my Boots but there was no-one around to open the drawer
Rosemary - Fab News :j
I got Little Dogs results back - he has Cushing's Disease (which we knew really just needed the tests done before anything could be done about it). He starts on a new med tomorrow so hopefully we will see some improvement and I can stop spending the GNP of a small country on puppy pads :rotfl:
One IN - the trial of handcream arrived - have put the S&G back in the drawer while I use this one. Not impressed so far
Have a good day :cool:0 -
Thanks for adding me in the groupSavings £8,865.22 £/15,000 Aiming to save enough for a house deposit.0

Afternoon all, another UU to declare:j
Palmers Cocoa Butter Body Lotion - WIBA? - Yes without doubt, have repurchased this countless times. Think its probably the best cream for my skin. This one was the bottle with the pump, and my only bugbear is that the pump stops working, and its pretty difficult to get the product out. xx0 -

I got my set from Debenhams, my only Benefit stockist round here. My Boots doesn't sell premium make up- probably a good thing
Thank you minerva_windsong!
Excellent news Rosemary54- Glad its sorted out for you!0 -
I actually need moisturiser now because my hands are really dry from cleaning the new kitchen. But they're packed away! seems silly when I have lots of nice new ones but I'm cutting open a binned tube and getting the dregs out!
actually, loads left in here! It looks a bit lumpy and not v nice though.
Also I mentioned to Mr LL that i didn't really think it would be fair for us to pay full rent this month given it wasn't properly ready and they'd got us to take the place a week earlier than we actually wanted. He said that sounded reasonable and he's speaking to Mrs LL about it. I said I was open to suggestions on how much we should pay. They both seem really nice so i dont think theyd be unreasonable about it but i'm not really sure how much i want taking off.
We're on day 3 of the tenancy and have moved quite a bit of stuff but can't really stay there yet as the paint on the windows in the bedroom isn't dry so we can't shut them. It'd be too draughty to ignore as it's an attic room with 4 windows and they don't seem to have an 'only just open' setting.
I'm kinda proud of myself for saying something because I was a bit scared to!0 -
OK so I am now officially bad and if you want to know just how bad then see clothes challenge:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
I decided against buying Grazia due to massive queue in WHS and knowledge I already have an unused Benefits box.
did get a freebie from boots Clinique as they sent me a coupon for 10 days supply of foundation if I had a consultation,I showed the SA I already used their stuff and so she asked if i just wanted a sample then:)as she did not have my shade she gave me the next darkest one as I said I was taking it for my hols.
I managed to avoid all other temptation BUT Occitane where i bought a huge box of goodies for £35 which the SA said was worth £100:):)there is only one small bar of soap thank goodness and lots of shower gels:)0
