Awww, I won't be able to make it on 10th Feb, but you can all have a drink of tap water
on me!
I've been for my walk - I walked briskly for a whole hour and I was quite warm by the end of it! DH reckons (cos I text him to work it out) that I've done 6000 steps. I think they recommend 10,000 per day. Do you think that watching daytime tv and being on MSE will gain me the next 4000? No?
WM is on and I've got a few e-mails to erm, write and e-mail.

I spray them lightly with water every day - keeps the dust from the cage down, and keeps their feathers in good condition.
Add to that lots of affection, and the birds will thrive...:)0 -

Hi everyone :santa2:
(((hugs))) to those who need or want them and Congrats to anyone with something to celebrate. Welcome newbies and welcome back those who have been away for a while. Quasar sorry to hear about your budgie. DD was upset yesterday because her best friend's hamster died. She is getting her own hamster at Christmas so now I dread the day when she will have to deal with her own loss.
We had a cosy night watching a dvd last night and just as DD and DS were going up to bed they decided to put their orders in. "Mum, I need black trousers and a white shirt for the play tomorrow night" pipes up DD. So, I have had to go out and buy new trousers and shirt for her today. DS "must have a holiday brochure" for school on Wednesday. He explained why he needed it but I am none the wiser.
This is DD's last ever Christmas play at school. She goes to high school next year.My baby at high school? Where does the time go.
DS is going on a school trip to the Christmas markets in Manchester on Thursday so that will be another expensive day for me.
Well, washing is up to date and I have just made some diabetic strawberry and cinnamon slices for my Dad as a little extra Crimbo pressie for him. They look ok but I *might* just have to try one (or two) to make sure they are edible.
Tonights dinner will be hm fajitas for DS and XDH (who is coming to the play with us) and DD and I will have roast chicken with mash and veg.
Sorry, didn't mean to ramble quite so much. Have a great day everyone. X"Bad planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."

hello again!
DS has been to the dentist and he had an abcess:eek: he was very brave and had it drained and now is on antibiotics and has to go back Thursday for a root filling!
Cooked us both a bacon sarnie for lunch(had egg in mine too;) ) to cheer us up.Have finished wrapping my pressies and am now off to take DS to the barbers before coming home to a long soak in a bath of radox bubbles and a read of my book:j
Have a great day folks
Take care xxDo what you love :happyhear0 -
Hello again everyone
Miserable, manky day today. Weatherwise that is. Here's a grey pic of it all.
But, got penninewoman off to work OK, moaning about the SAT level assessments she has to try to fit into today. They've been asked to be more precise with the levels they assign - which sounds like a good idea unless you question what it's all about and what difference it makes to anyone. SATs and levels have been grossly distorted since their inception back in the late '80s. But this isn't the place to go into governement's (of any colour) testing, testing, testing.
Here in penninetown I popped down to local hairdresser's for beautification haircut;then local Co-op for today's supplies - not much but included a very non-OS box of mince pies. (Sorry). And remembered I had to pick up sack-load of drugs from pharmacy which I managed fairly easily although will need to go back for more of one drug which they didn't have enough of.
Now will have some more of very OS HM vege soup then run the vac around in manly fashion; stack dishwasher; load some washing, prob coloureds I guess; and then sort out the pictures I've created for ours friends - penninewoman has selected those she thinks are best and fit the friends.
And then I might even have a go at sneekymum's male/female brain assessment again over on discussion time and see if I've changed after a year off work and now retired. Maybe I'll be even more female . . . .
. . . . except it doesn't seem to be working any longer . . . ???Where now?0 -
Hi everyone! Off to read your doings in a mo but hugs all round!
I've been a naughty little spendthrift since I last posted but I'm happy in the knowledge that I've done it with a true old style. Sat saw me in a right grump and wanting a treat so I bought some gorgeous yarn and I'm now halfway through knitting a fluffy scarf for myself for Chrimbo day. Then yesterday I bought a jumper to go with the new scarf [but a charity shop one] and new black boots. I knew I needed them because the others leaked but for the first time ever I waited until the sale in Clarks and got £20 off. Blimey how things have changed to my former style of living:D
Today OS has been mega tidying and cleaning the bathroom. Ironing is now up to date and pressies are wrapped and all cards apart from hand delivered ones are sent.
Tonight I'm back here for the late shift so shall hopefully drop in again.
Hope you all have a lovely afternoon!

:hello: MushyPeas. Have you tried Next? I love their boot cut jeans and they have some nice spangly ones for christmas. They range in price from 19.99 + and although I'm 5'6 I always buy the long length as they sit nicely if you wear anything with a heel.
Thanks for the kind wishes, we are really happy about OH's job and the timing is perfect as by my calculations we were going to have to start living off our Oz savings on the 8th Jan. I celebrated by buying a couple of poinsettias (sp?) from Mr T's for £1.99 and some cadbury's christmas choccie biscuits on BOGOF (which I don't like so can't be tempted to eat!). Got home to find Oh's 94 year old Grandma in New Zealand has sent my children as a christmas present 1.3 kilo's of New Zealand confectionary  at a postage cost of $35 for about $12 of marshmallows and chocolate so could probably do with taking the biscuits back.0
