    Hi, hope someone can help.

Instead of buying chocolates I'm going to make a variety of small truffles/sweets to gives as presents. I was hoping to buy small boxes for these but the prices on ebay are so expensive it would be cheaper just to buy chocolates! Does anyone know where I could buy cheap boxes as I really think home made truffles would be appreciated much more by my family and friends.

    Many thanks

Card Factory have some really nice boxes for a quid or so. They are some nice round ones that I thought would be nice for fudge and things.
Thanks to all those who post competitions! :T

Flannels - Try home bargains, they usually have some there, or poundland that may be worth a try,

There is no Home Bargains here. I went to Poundland today and they didn't have any. Wilkinsons had them for £1 for two. QS had them for 75p each. I finally got them in Asda in packs of fours, and I think they worked out at 25p each. I also got the pint glasses from there, as again they worked out the cheapest.

Sweets - I get my cello bags from a seller from ebay (nickchicks), for sweets I would say go for the smallest cello bags that he has, think there 9in x 2in x 3in, theres 50 in the pack, what I do is the bag seems to big length wise, is just chop off off tie with ribbon and make the top look posh. I always use the seller, I find he has the best postage on ebay.

Thank you! Will have a look.

    Thanks for all your help.

I am doing the same for adults, as well as mince pies and xmas cakes.

For the truffles, the boes work out expensive, but sainsburys do sweet bags int he baking Isle that have a piece of card in the bottom so they stand up,and ties, I am using these and making labels to say wht is in them, I think they were areount the £1-£1.50 mark for 10 bags, which is so much cheaper, plus they look pretty through the see through bag, this may be a cheaper alternative to keep costs down ( I think they sell them in Morrisons too)

Had a busy crafting day today! Here are some of my makes:

    Chocolate bar reindeers

    Decorated notebooks.

Wooden words I have painted with metallic paint, then either covered in glitter or put gemstones on them.

Have also done a load of beer mat calendars, and decorated chocolates with "All you need in life is a friend with chocolate" on them, but didn't want to fill the thread with my pictures!

  • Just to update - the rum truffles went down extremely well. I have even had people asking for more as a stocking filler!
