Right. The shopping has begun. All on eBay of course - my poor postman is going to have a bad back come Christmas, I had best buy him a bottle of wine!

Also got the cat food and supplies sorted for the winter period - deliveries are usually a nightmare and I always run out of something. At least if theyre sorted I can reason with humans when things go wrong - the kitties are not quite as forgiving!

I haven't bought any cards yet but thought I might do some christmas themed mini still life pictures and put them into those cards with frame cut outs in them. We shall see just how much time I have!

WooHoo long tubes of Jaffa Cakes have finally made it to Coventry!!!!!

Yaay that's another present ticked off!

Bought a shredder today for £7.97 from telco direct to shred paper to make hamper linings though of course it can be used all year round i'm sure:rotfl:

I have decided on my present to my estranged grandad and partner - An afternoon tea hamper with the following; Twinnings tea selection, Biscuits, Jam, Fruit cake, green & black mini chocolates (mainly as I was given some for my birthday and I'm not keen!), marmalade

Is there anything else you guys can think of that I'm missing?

I've just seen something else on another website what do you guys think of this?

Tea & toast hamper with twinings tea selection, jam, marmalade, lemon curd, honey & a nice toast rack??

Is there anything else that could be added to this idea?

Which do you think is better afternoon tea or tea & toast??
Spreading a little Christmas joy all year round :santa2:

Hi everyone, new to the thread! Started my Christmas crafting yesterday, which is rather late, but oh well! Made a couple of decorated notebooks.

I have a couple of questions for some other projects if anyone can help please. First of all I am decorating those Elizabeth Shaw Mints, and wondered if anyone knew the width of them please, so I can work out if my punch is the right size? (solved!)

Secondly, I am making the socks in a pint thing, and have got the socks, but am looking for the flannels/face cloths. I was wondering if anyone had found any bargain ones about please? The cheapest I've seen so far is 50p each at Wilkinsons, but really wanted them cheaper!

ETA: actually I have another question! I am putting together some christmas sweets to sell, and I can't seem to work out the right size of cello bags. If someone could give me an idea, I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks in advance and sorry for so many questions!

Ugh I've come to a full stop :(

I've still got my Dad, 2 nephews, step-niece (well my sister's OH's little girl) brother and OH to buy for.

I have it all planned what I'm going to buy them but lack of cash is thwarting me :( OH is not getting what I was going to get him as I have to bail him out on the car loan  and I totally blew my budget on my best mate and spent £100 buying the shirt off the back of a player she likes at Notts Rugby's Ladies Day a few weeks ago. :o

On the plus side I bought a Nivea for Men set for my Dad in Home Bargains for £3.99, the next day I saw the same one in Superdrug for £6. Bargain :D

i really like the sound of the afternoon tea hamper, think that would get more use than the toast rack, and u can recycle the chocs even better!! xx

    Hi,
Not 100% accuracte but Elizabeth shaw mints are just under an in across.

Flannels - Try home bargains, they usually have some there, or poundland that may be worth a try,

Sweets - I get my cello bags from a seller from ebay (nickchicks), for sweets I would say go for the smallest cello bags that he has, think there 9in x 2in x 3in, theres 50 in the pack, what I do is the bag seems to big length wise, is just chop off off tie with ribbon and make the top look posh. I always use the seller, I find he has the best postage on ebay.

    Hi everyone,

Wanted to ask for peoples opinion on what other small stuff I could put in a small coffee themed hamper. So far I have..umm a packet of those posh Douwe Egberts coffee pods!

Probably not a mug as the recipient has plenty already, but can't seem to think past a packet of nice biscuits.

Can anyone think of one or two other items I could put it along the same lines otherwise it's looking a bit bare! :o

    many thanks..

Also on the cafetierre idea, how about one of those silly coats for them? My Dad has a waiter one!
How about amaretto biscuits, you can buy them in a bag or you can find them in lovely tins this time of year.
  • Hi, hope someone can help.

Instead of buying chocolates I'm going to make a variety of small truffles/sweets to gives as presents. I was hoping to buy small boxes for these but the prices on ebay are so expensive it would be cheaper just to buy chocolates! Does anyone know where I could buy cheap boxes as I really think home made truffles would be appreciated much more by my family and friends.

    Many thanks
