Maybe a memory box type thing top put new babies first clothes, bootees etc in if they are sentimental people or one of those frames where you mold the babies handprint in clay. HTH

Travel Journal for her to record her trip (things she's seen, people she's met etc); passport cover; travel toothbrush; Asda have loads of little travel toiletries (deodorants, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel.... - they obviously won't last the trip but are a starter).

  • hi Lucyc58, what a lovely idea. Of course theres the usual travel toiletries, funky passport cover, travel journal. How about a voucher for an activity whilst she's there - (might be able to order online or else print off details of something and present it in envelope with the dollars cash to pay for it) I done this for a zorbing experience when my best friend went to NZ. Perhaps you could get one for the Sydney Harbour Bridge walk - totally amazing!!! I also recently bought a travel game for our holiday called 'Trivial pursuit steal' It's like a pack of cards version of the traditional triv but is bang up to date and easy to pack. Great for travelling and making new friends :) I got it on Amazon on offer but worth shopping around for.
You could get your friend a travel guidebook, or a nice day bag, funky flipflops? A necklace with a Saint Christopher (saint of safe travelling) if you're feeling really rich maybe book an event at Sydney opera house.
Oooo I'm feeling all in need of a holiday now! I'm sure your friend will be really chuffed x

Hiya have been lurking, but saw this & wondered if it would work for quite light hampers instead of a basket?

Haven't tried it yet but could be OK for light stuff?

Perfect thanks, I've been looking for a cheap source of truffle boxes, now I can make my own. Great tutorial too. :rotfl::T:j:rotfl::T

Thanks for all your ideas regarding the travel hamper, I now have a list to be getting on with :-)
  • Hello - can I join in? :) I wanted to see what you thought of this idea and any ideas you might have?

My sister is going through a really rough time and I wanted to get her two hampers - a 'night in pamper hamper' and a 'night out hamper'.

For the night in I was thinking some smellies, wine, chocs etc and for the night out I'm going to put in some make up, a babysitting voucher, etc.

What do you think? And what do you think should be in them? I don't want to miss something obvious!

Things are tight so I'm picking up bits now!
