Haven't tried it yet but could be OK for light stuff?
aawwee i used to make these boxes when i was a kid. Once you've done the first they're really easy
I'm not sure about using them as hamper boxes but they would be great for smaller gifts, bracelets, sweets, pots of gold even.
Thanks for the link - you've given me a happy 'blast frrom the past' and a fantastic, thrifty idea i will definately be using :j0 -
If you are interested in making fudge for Christmas I would seriously advise you NOT to start yet for two major reasons 1) any weight loss challenges will immediately be LOST owing to the "quality Control" process that normally involves a pan of cooling fudge a bottle of wine a sofa and a film...oh and if you start now it will be nasty by December.
TOP tip though get a suger thermometer of you will end up with toffee - not that this makes a bad xmas offering either (as I found out last year!!)0 -
Hi Everyone,
Do you mind if I hop aboard?
I'm in the mood for Christmas organising and need to get my behind in gear for my hampers. They go down so well with my family and friends - many have been reduced to tears by the fact that some thought into theme and presentation has gone into it. I love presenting them.
Seeing the Football Hamper suggestion has given me thought for my Nephew. Mustn't forget a named door plaque and hanger!
My niece is into gymnastics - wonder what I can find for her? Better get my thinking hat on.
My Mum and Step-Dad really enjoy their holidays abroad (2 or 3 a year - lucky spuds), I'm going to make them a travel hamper. I've got them a Travel Journal and will get them new Passport Covers. Any other suggestions welcome.
Best friend and DH to get creative over now!
How exciting!AF since 10.04.11

Parents- luggage scales, luggage labels, luggage lock, flight socks, travel pillow, document organiser (for flight tickets etc) you could even add some local currency if feeling flush.0 -
Leotard, gym bag, water bottle. How old is she? Would a trolley token coin for the lockers and a towel be appropriate for her age?

Thanks for the ideas Spendless! Niece is 6yrs old but into Gymnastics in a big way. Great ideas for Mum and SD too.AF since 10.04.11

Went in my local "Morrisons" today & they have tin biscuits out on an end aisle promo. spot and were starting to display Christmas chocolates & biscuits etc. in the seasonal area.
It is a race to whom puts them out first??!!! (last year 'mince pies' were out of date before Christmas!)
I wouldn't buy them now because they would be too tempting and gone by the end of the week, let alone December!!!!0 -

What about a twirling baton? I got my dd's them from tesco, think they were a pound or two, pink and sparkly too!
Or a ribbon stick? (you can make these really easily)
Does she go to classes, could you give her a voucher, or buy a block lesson?
Gymanstics books, dvd, sweat bands etc
Quite a hard one actually! I like pp's ideas of token, gym bottle & leotard :money:0 -
Or just another thought, what about getting a little trophy/medal/plaque and engraving 'worlds best gymnast' or something similar on it.0
