No, that is not the case at all. That is the party line that is trotted out but it is not what happens.

You may be interested to know what happens when you report abuse on the Board, as I did.

This is the reply I got.

    "Hi
Thanks for your e-mail. This board is for abuse reports only.
Please post your comment/query on the relevant thread.
    Kindest regards

    MSE Forum Team" (my emphasis)

When I replied to ask in what way complaining about abuse of posters was not an abuse report, they declined to respond.

    and forgiveable
No. Rudeness and aggression is not forgiveable.

Do not presume to tell me how to behave with regard to factual information which is evidenced in your own boards - instead I suggest that you "not moderators" do something about the wholesale ignorance and prejudice which regularly offends, and borderrs on, if not crosses over into, unlawful discriminatory remarks. You never once intervene to prevent attacks on women who are pregnamt or on maternity leave despite wholly inflammatory comments made by posters here; you have never once intervened to point out that public sector workers have a right to be heard without being accused of being lazy or weak willed. How dare you comment on my moral stance - before looking to your own? And no doubt this post will disappear - you seem to moderate at your own whim.
There is of course no possibility that this sentiment could have been expressed in a more moderate tone.

What a shame that this thread has been hijacked in such a way. Please take your problems elsewhere

Actually, no it hasn't. The OP has taken herself to another site on which I also post to get help which does not include accusing her and/or her son of being a liar without any cause whatsoever. The OP is perfectly well aware of what has been said on this thread and can respond at any time.

No it could not. Quoting part of what I said out of context is simply attempting to warp the facts of what is happening on these threads.

I think it has. Your input on this thread was very informative and really kept me interested. It's such a shame that the thread tailed off from the original topic and turned into a slanging match.

If the OP is still reading this thread please continue to post as I am certainly interested in what happens to your son

ooo yes, please do let us know the outcome. It's so satisfying when you see a poor employer shoot themselves in the foot to this extent.

Oh, how I wish I'd had folks like the OP and Sar-El in my corner after leaving my previous job...!

I can't decide which was my favourite quote from that place (so many to pick from!). It has to be either - in relation to my disability - "Are you 'like that' all the time, or do you just 'put it on' when you come to work?" or - in relation to my gender - "Although we are very happy for you to do the work, you must surely understand that we cannot promote you to the official post because you are, um, well, basically, um... a woman." sad0147.gif

I do like to see these arrogant types come a cropper though - and I seriously wish Booie (the OP) and her son the very, very best. He sounds like a delightful, mature, responsible young man - who does not deserve the situation in which he has found himself.
