Tesco a rant

Options
I live on a road with a weight restriction.

This is in place due to the number of very old properties in the street that have a basement, in the past there has been subsidence on the street due to the weight of vehicles travelling down it.

The Tesco lorries are constantly violating this weight limit, despite there being another route available to them out of the village.

Last weekend one of the lorries was stopped by an elderly resident , the driver of said vehicle launched into a string of abuse at being delayed and proceeded to then drive half on the pavement to get around the obstruction in the road.

The manager of the local branch of Tesco has been approached during the week, and has informed us that NO Tesco vehicles ever use the street, and that we are making it up. He was informed that we all witnessed it and he said we were making it up and asked us to leave.

This week there has been even more lorry traffic from Tesco and the manager refuses to engage in conversation about it.

An email has now been sent to Tesco HQ.

Grr bloody bunch of muppets.

That is the plan now, I have installed a camera for said purpose.

However the three of us who went to complain to the manager are the local GP, a police officer and the vicar... So not exactly the type to make it up.

A local GP, a vicar and a police officer........that is either the beginning of a very funny joke or 3 respectable people in the community.

I impressed myself how quick I thought of it at this time of night :)

Is there not anything the police officer can do?

Nope, not my force area and the local force are quite overstreched that this is quite a low priority for them sadly.

Surely un-official use of a stinger device can be justified in this case :D

Surely between a police officer, GP and vicar one of you must know someome who know a journalist at the local paper. I'm sure the journo could have it front page news, you could say that the drivers almost run over precious little school kids on their way to school etc. The story writes itself.

I would advise ringing the depot the lorry is from. Ask for the transport manager. I used to work in a tesco DC and they should sort it.
