    I just hope all the deep heat albums I have stashed in my dad's loft are still ok... oh, and that the Madonna album still has that lovely smell. :D
    Are they cassettes or vinyl?
  • WOW what happend last night. What is that geordie racer guy going on about you have done nothing ilegal all you sell on your website is proper cd's and you have to own the original on tape/vinyl which I do I have both tape and vinyl. But the problem is my now 3,4,6,7,9 are all fuzzeld on cassette and I don't have anything to play my vinyl on. So how is that breaking the law? Retrodiscs would only be making me a backup.

    Because copying music and selling it on is illegal and goes against this countries copyright law and is called piracy, thats why.

    However the producers of NOW, do allow you to download and compile the albums\tracks online to create those compilations you need, including covers\artwork, which is a perfectly legal way of getting back those albums you need;

    I was aware of that option on the site. They don't allow you to compile the actual Now albums 2 to 9 as far as I can see though (I may be wrong)
    Did you get your MP3 versions from the Now site?
    If they did allow you to compile the early albums that would be a welcome compromised alternative to a CD re-issue. Mind you It would be expensive to compile 8 double albums and the quality (MP3) is compressed so it's not ideal, especially when you have bought them all before. It would be a better option if the producers offered a custom CD manufacturing service if they don't want to distribute a full re-issue.

    Not me no, I transferred ALL my vinyl's to mp3. ALL the NOW tracks are available on the site, even if the albums are not listed. Each track is in the original format that went on the albums, compiling the albums you dont have already that are not displayed on their site, would involve you manually compiling each individual track to make the album.

    I was fortunate, my younger days of being a DJ meant I had a huge amount of albums to rip (compilations, extendeds, artists) leaving me with only 120gig of a 500gig HD just dedicated to mp3 music. My somewhat large collection of vinyl is now in storage as there is simply no room in this house for them, I should sell them on, but am reluctant to do so as not only are they the original hard backups, but still have the whiff of sentimentality.

    I have the vinyl versions (and cassettes) of now 1 to 9 and the rest on CD. But because I have a 10,000 Cd collection (genuine) I had 99% of the tracks in full digital form and therefore used them for my replicas (got rid of my vinyl mp3 discs).
    I will have another look at the Now site again as previously all I could find was the option to download specific packages of tracks from defined "digital only" NOW concept albums.

    Now That's What I Call Music Volumes 2 to 9 originally issued on vinyl and cassette but never been re-issued on CD format.
    Actually, you appear to be mistaken, sir.

    Now That's What I Call Music 4, 8 & 9 appear also to have been issued as single CD compilations, perhaps with not the full collection of tracks that the tape & LP had.

    This seems to be confirmed by two sources EDIT that n00bs like me are not permitted to link to.

    I only discovered this thread because I happened by a CD copy on eBay and was stunned by the price. But I can't believe people would bid that high if a CD of this title had never actually been pressed. Perhaps you'll be interested yourself?

    I'm not yet allowed to post links, but check out eBay item 350469426581. :shocked:

    Time for some dedicated perusal of car-boot and estate sales, methinks.
