I bought the re-release of the 1st now album on cd when it came out. I don't know why more haven't been released.

I did have the vinyl versions of a lot of them, but unfortunately don't have anything to play them on now!

I have read a few complaints about tracks being different to on the original album, but the only one I can spot is "Only for love" by Limahl, that one's definitely different. Someone else mentioned about "Double Dutch" by Malcolm McLaren being a different version, but I didn't notice any difference with that one to be honest.

Can I say what a good job you have done with your website and making your replicas. Can I ask how much you are charging for your replicas as I would be interested in buying them. How did you get the covers so bright and just brilliant. They look like they are out of a shop and been made by emi.
Thanks for the compliments. More pictures will be available on the website in the near future. The website is in temporary form at the moment as a full carting system is almost completed.
As for the replicas, I am a perfectionist and I have invested a lot of time into perfecting the crafting process and seeking the best possible materials. They really do look real in the flesh.
The reason I have developed the replicas is because just about all of my cassettes are useless. It is the tape EMI used in their own duplicating plant which has turned sticky stopping the cassettes from turning smoothly. The only ones that are OK are those that were manufactured by other duplication houses (EMI used to contract out during busy periods like Xmas- thank god).
Since I now have the masters on CD I am busy making new tapes and spooling them back into the original cassette housing. They are now like new (mad- but it's nostalgia):)

I have been trying to get a reply from EMI for over 5 years about possible re-issues but they are a faceless company. I thought there had been a break-through when they re-issued NOW 1 but it "NOW" seems it was a one -off.

The Limahl track has a slighly different start but is 95% to the version on the original release. They tended to put unique versions of tracks on the now albums, sometimes to suit the running times (radio edits) and sometimes so you would buy the single or the artists album to get the original versions.

Can't say I have noticed the Mclaren version is different.
My replica versions tracks are 99.9% correct and all took from my genuine CD collection:)

I know that there is some tracks what I can't find on cd like feargal sharkey-listin to your father and the commentators-19 not out but I suppose who would want to listin to the commentators its funny for about 30 seconds then it just gets on your nerves. But when you sort your website out I will be interested in buying the now's 2-9:)

I have the complete NOW series on MP3, I grew up with the Now albums, so it was inevitable I would eventually transfer my vinyl's to MP3 folder formats., they did re-release NOW1 on CD, and it was hoped the release would spark an influx of collectors, but I think the lack of sales on the first killed off the idea.

It would not be bad if they opted for a boxset, imagine the size of the box ;).

That's a pretty untrue, unfounded and ignorant assumption you have made there. I'll report you for that.

Go for it. 2 newbie posters and one bigging up the other(and thanking each other) who is offering to sell you CD copies of music with artwork all printed off which im sure is against copyright/ownership laws in this country and most of europe.

Wouldn't that also alert BGs to the fact you've PPR status, as said by yourself previously?
There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.

You are right they are both extremely rare. Taffy Midnight radio is another. The version used on NOW 9 is also extremely rare.
