The screen on my Orange San Francisco went after about 6 months. I took it back to the Orange shop, the man looked in the back (I guess to see if it got wet) and seemed happy. Within 24 hours a man turned up on motorbike with an exchange phone.
Excellent service from the Orange shop !
I didn't have any insurance or similar add on.
Happy customer.
Perhaps the replacement for your phone is another one replaced at no cost.0 -
OSF still only £60 + £20 top-up in my local Orange store if you know anyone with NHS etc.0

Popped into my store at lunchtime and it is £99 + £20 top up.
The assistant in the shop told me that the discount does not apply to PAYG phones, only contract ones

The assistant is wrong. Contracts get a percentage off, PAYG get £20 off. And it was £80 in my shop yesterday.0

Been hoping the OP would come back and say how the OSF broke! I missed out on the OLED version but before I jump would want to know if there are build quality issues.....Tough times never last longer than tough people.0

You might want to consider carrying out more research than 'asking the OP how is broke' to identify build issues. I suspect that every mobile phone that was ever built has at least one handset that has broken. One broken phone would not be a suitable indicator of an inherently poor build quality.
I wonder how many people on here own an OSF that hasn't broken?0 -

I mentioned that mine broke.
In answer to the comment asking for information, it was the original OLED version. I had it for almost exactly 6 months, always kept it in a slip case and usually in a zipped jacket pocket, hadn't dropped it and one day the screen went and as far as I could tell the phone wouldn't boot up.
There was no sign of mechanical damage on the screen just a funny splodge from one edge.
The risk of this kind of thing happening was why I wanted a relatively cheap phone and had Orange not replaced it I would probably have bought another one anyway.
About 5 years ago I had a very simple phone and the screen went on that after being dropped about 3 feet so with a big screen on a touch screen phone this has to be a possibility.
I've not found a flip cover case for the Orange San Francisco. My son has one of those for his iPod Touch and that seems very protective.0
