Best Android Handset at around £100

I think you might be jumping the gun a little to assume that there is some form of OSF build quality crisis just because one person reports that their phone has died. ZTE in their wisdom decided it would be profitable to sell more than one unit...

I have an OSF...it is working.
I am not disputing that. OP may have damaged phone and that's why it isn't working. However, as OSF was released in September 2010, if mine had gone on the blink some 8 months later, I wouldn't be rushing to get another unless I was sure it was user damage.
Ironically, I would have gone for one myself, but I needed a handset with UMA (bad signal in my house) and the LG was one of the few that fitted the bill, so it was a bit of a Hobson's choice for me.0 -
Osf only choice at this price
Get it quick though, i have it from a friend with an independant shop that PAYG prices will soon increase as losing network subsidies for PAYG
Found link to confirm

Very interesting read in this thread. Also that link was informative. I was thinking about buying one of these just after the start of july. Looks like I might have to get it just before that?
Also, since these dont support flash, what does that end up affecting? Certain websites maybe?0 -

Poor battery life and if you have the mini, not the mini pro, the battery is non-removable.So, if the battery dies, bye bye phone.
But it is a good shirt-pocket size.0 -

What 'these'? I think all androids support it.
The android operating system supports it but not all phones have a suitable processor. For example the blade (OSF) has an ARMv6 processor that clocks at 600MHz so it isn't currently supported by Adobe Flash.
As to answer Base Hunta's question, the implication of it not supporting flash mean that it won't support BBC IPlayer or any other media that uses the flash platform. That doesn't mean all video sites, for example youtube still works just fine.0 -
The screen on the ZTE Skate might be physically bigger at 4.3 inches but the screen quality is going to be pretty poor compared to the Blade (OSF). Both have a 480x800 pixel display, so all the skate does is stretch those pixels into a larger area so the quality deteriorates.
The processor is only 200MHz more which makes it pretty poor for a phone that isn't going to be less than £150.00
Basically the only real improvement on the skate is that it will support Adobe Flash with its ARMv7 processor and a marginally better camera (with a flash).
I've been impressed with what I've read about the OSF and have been eagerly anticipating the arrival of the ZTE Skate before I make my purchase. Neither is available where I live so have to wait until I'm back in the UK in July anyway but it sounds like the Skate might not be all it's cracked up to be.
I want to be able to use the device wirelessly (from my landline mostly) for Skype, accessing Gmail and general internet surfing. Can anyone advise as to whether these all function well on the OSF, especially wirelessly? And is the screen size sufficient? That's the main draw of the Skate (plus the bigger processor) but from what the above poster says it might actually be worse!0 -
I have an OSF but a good alternative is the INQ Cloud Touch with higher specs - Android 2.2, 800 MHz processor, 5 mp camera with LED flash, and Skype compatible, unlike the OSF where sound comes out of the speakerphone only. However the 3.5 screen is of a lower resolution 320 x 480. The INQ is priced at £134.95 so slightly higher than the OSF.0

Using GEN2 FLB r11b Lite and Phat rom and it's faultless and has the best battery life I have come across
