I rationalized that my new shoes shouldn't be punished just because I can't budget

Great idea to go with cash only, when you see your wodge getting slimmer everyday, it does make it more 'real' somehow.
Mags - try saving monthly for car tax & insurance. I have a savings acct linked to my current acct & everyday payday I sweep money into that for car expenses. It really makes a difference
Have a lovely day all

I do the same with saving for car stuff and anything else that I pay annually as a lump sum. If I am desperate, I raid it, but otherwise I leave it to build up so it's there when I need it.
I do use a CC for food/fuel/budgeted spend as I get JL vouchers as cashback, but it is very dangerous and I am probably going to go back to cash only as I have built up a little overspend too. Mostly being lazy on food shopping - but I have worked out what this is so am planning it in instead of it catching me out!
as long as you recognise it's a problem, and do something about it so it doesn't get worse, no sense in beating yourself up about it
I need to look after my nails better!0 -

The Holiday Countdown begins - 23 days! :j
Time for a bit of a body blitz. I''ve weighed in this morning at 11st 11lbs - 4 back onWeekend excesses! I've bought Slim Fast for the week to give me a start, will see how I get on then decide whether to do the full 3 weeks. I also need to exercise (but cheaply) so time to dig out the DVD's - please nag me, I really struggle to motivate myself to exercise! I would love to lose the 11lbs but I think a target of half a stone is more realistic
Am also planning a few sunbed sessions and some all round pampering. Have booked my nail and pedicure appointments, and will also need to get my hair trimmed

It's a John Lewis Partnership card - you earn 1 point for every £1 you spend in JL or Waitrose, and 1 point for every £2 everywhere else. It comes back to you as vouchers every quarter, I have spent a lot on mine and have done well with it. Originally I got it because there was a 0% BT offer on, but decided to keep it as I love JL, and normally shop for my fresh stuff in Waitrose.
Shoe Gal, just to play devil's advocate, what's actually stopping you from exercising? Is it just pahhh/bleaurghhh-ness? Or are you deep down just OK with how you are? (and I'm not trying to sound arsey just being a bit naggy)
I agree with Mags, plenty of time to get some real shredding done and you will see some great results in that time!0 -
