I rationalized that my new shoes shouldn't be punished just because I can't budget

Spa day was amazing - am feeling really chilled now :D Had a facial and a massage, did a gym session, swin, sauna, steam - the works! And loads of lovely time to relax and think. Have decided I need to look after myself better - my skincare routine is hit and miss and as for exercise ........... enough said!

No actual plan - just random thoughts at the moment

Day off today so I've had my nails done and a bit of cheeky shopping - black trousers and a sparkly t-shirt from H&M :D

Have been looking at my finances and I have to confess that I have accumulated about £600 of debt over the last 3 months without having much to show for it :o I've bought some clothes and stuff but I have also been sticking the odd bit of food on CC and not fully clearing, plus a few beauty treatments etc! I need to stop doing this, I already know I have a few bills coming up in September so need to have a sensible month on the food/treats front - am thinking of trying a cash only month

  • Hi Shoe Gal

Just catching up on your diary and just wanted to recommend Body Pump, it's brilliant for toning up & burning calories! You feel the benefit very quickly & it's really enjoyable once you get used to the pain!;) Give it a go!
i wish my bank account could keep up with my Rockstar Lifestle!

Do it do it do it!!!

    1. Get your budget planner downloaded.
    2. Enter ALL the months outgoings. Include hair, nails, rent, CT, water, phone, internet, gas/electric, debt and ANYTHING you'll be paying out.
    3. Whats left is your cash to spend. Divide this by the number of weeks in the month and thats your weekly amount.

    SIMPLES! Hope this helps X

:( Probably not the most MSE of opinions but I think this is more to do with the cost of living than things you are doing wrong. Things like petrol and heating/electricity are really expensive just now. These things cost the same money no matter how much or little a person earns.

In my world bills are taking a substantial amount of what I earn. The clothes are bought in sales and the beauty treats are from groupon but I've been left almost penniless again due to car tax and insurance in August. No matter how much I cut back it's never quite enough so I know the feeling :(

1st September soon, time to start again :) It's like New Years Resolutions every week on MSE

I try my best to do cash only. Never put things on c card...well I will be soon for some big stuff but I don't take it to everyday shopping with me...too dangerous. Souks plan is good, make sure you include a lil beauty treatment/magazine/nice things etc fund in your budget and it will be easier :)

Thanks Mags - I don't feel quite such a failure now :o Some people on here seem to be amazingly good at frugality and debt payment but I just don't seem to be one of them!

I was trying to think of ideas today to make some extra money which I would put towards nice things. Ideas that don't involve overtime at my usual job as it gets too much. Still trying to think of something...
