Hmmm Citroen Xsara 1.9 D (I think non turbo?) anyone?

We run these in work.... along with Berlingos and Partners vans. Mostly 1.9'ds with a few HDis creeping in.

Apart from being slow as !!!! and noisy You couldn't go far wrong with one of these. Some of ours are knocking 300k and still drive tight and hit mid 50mpg...

    I was getting hopeful there.
Supply for my 4 cylinder car with a toriodal tank would still be £900, then fitting on that, well over a grand.
    Back to ebay.
If I ever see one I'll give it a go.

Six cylinder they quote starting from £870 supply, with a standard tank in the boot, another £120 if you want it in the sparewheel well.

Still not scary money though mikey, the LPG kit can be reused.

£1200 odd isn't bad money for a leathered up estate car on a 52 plate. Not bargain or shed money really but on the journeys that Kilty is going to do running it as is for 60days up and down the motorway then selling for twice what he paid for it is still good economic sense, even if it will use more.fuel than the 405, but if he got that for £550, the price difference alone will buy a lot of fuel.

The 3.0V6 is a nice smooth powerful engine, haven't checked TinleyTech for a while and i thought the kit price would have been about £750 at a guess.

I can get a budget conversion done by a company in Hertfordshire for not much more than a grand fitted, will look up.their email quote and put up a link.to their webpage if i have time.

I got a quote for £1200 for a top spec system.with Flashlube for a Scenic 1.6 auto last month when i was considering the ex motability Scenics at CG.

Still in the running but would rather pay the £4150 + fees that the nice 08 plaate went for at Chelmsford, inckuding LPG it is almost the same price as a similar car that was sold by CG recently, local dealers in Romford have them.up for over 6 grand!

Another orphan yesterday was a petrol Hyundai Trajet, highish miles, with history, on an 02 plate went for £400+ fees. It was a 2.0 petrol, but a cheap 7 seater.

Pity the fees are so expensive since they were bought over, tea stall is better though!

Well I've got a shed at last - 2002 02 Nissan Almera 1.5 E. Scruffy bodywork and interior but mechanically solid - 12 months MOT and tax til end October.

    £750.

Had to spend £13 getting the wheels balanced and £4 on a wiper blade but apart from that it'll not need much. Mate has some oil kicking around his garage so we might change it before I start piling mega miles on it. Stuck an air filter in it (£3.80) - from the look of the old one I guess it's not been serviced for a while.

Bleurgh. Started cleaning the interior - would hate to do this for a living, it's so bloody disgusting.

    You ... clean ... cars?

Can't say I've ever bothered. I get a man in to do that every so often.

Hark at you, Mr "I've got a man for that" :rotfl:

Previous owner clearly didn't even get someone else to do it...

Yeah I'm far too fat and lazy to spend £10 on cleaning gunk when I can pay the local Turks £12.95 to do a better job than I'd ever do :)

Hey, if they're prepared to work 3/4 of an hour for that much, far be it from me to stop them lol.

If I'd shown them this they'd have told me to do one - passenger door card pocket was full of fag ends hurl.gif

It's getting better though, found a tin of Groom in the shed so I'm working on the seats now (removed the manky seat covers to reveal manky seats underneath )

Never underestimate how much work is involved in prepping a car is all I'll say :D
