Just had a look on ebay -- jeez it is a bit barren around here isn't it?
That said, either of these do you?

Certainly is barren.
Avensis will go for the best part of a bag of sand IMO, maybe even into one and a half - it's at £560 already with ages to go.
Accord might be heavy on insurance but I'll check (VTEC YO)0 -
Hmmm Citroen Xsara 1.9 D (I think non turbo?) anyone?0

Details on it are a bit vague at the moment - it's up for £699 but I don't know much about it :rotfl:0

How much is a LPG conversion these days? Would the cost of that still keep it in shed money?
I think you would struggle to keep.it in proper shed territory.
But if you self fit a TinleyTech system i reckon.you could get the conversion cost well under a grand.
Not forgetting you can remove the LPG kit for use in the next shed.0 -
Makes sense to add it to that then.
Like !!!! it does.
£400 car and up to £2K for LPG, sounds like a quick way to the poor house.
Since you had to ask the price of an LPG system i don't think your opinion is that relevant.
The only time i have heard a two grand conversion cost for LPG is when it is a complicated V8 off roader that was having extra tanks fitted underneath.
This is only a V6, a place not far from me would fit a system with a one yr warranty, but no Flashlube for a grand give or take a few quid.
A TinleyTech system would be cheaper still.
Lets not forget that this is a much newer and much better car than an MReg 405 GLX with a petrol engine, and driven sensibly it won't be that far off the fuel.consumption of the older 405, i reckon yiu could get 30's on a run.
Remember that this car is only for 60days of the year, even without LPG it is not much fuel.cost really, more than a Picanto, but for short term.use then that fact the car was cheap is surely most important, i reckon you.could sell it in 6 months time for nearer £800, or as said previously break it for parts. The V6 engine is a popular conversion for the 306 boys.0 -
One thing quashes the V6 thing - insurance.
I'd find it very hard to get cover and even if I did, I'd probably be paying the purchase price of the car for a month0 -
..............A TinleyTech system would be cheaper still.........
I was getting hopeful there.
Supply for my 4 cylinder car with a toriodal tank would still be £900, then fitting on that, well over a grand.
Back to ebay.
If I ever see one I'll give it a go.
Six cylinder they quote starting from £870 supply, with a standard tank in the boot, another £120 if you want it in the sparewheel well.0
