Hmm, I'd be suspicious of the DH using the DS as an alibi. At least in part.

Its all well and good saying it's 'normal behaviour'... but it's still against the law.
If you can take spending so much time doing it, you could simply track his usage and block each site he visits. Means he'll have to keep finding something new every time. As has already been said, if he's very savvy (or even only fairly so) he could simply get an OS he can run direct from a USB stick and access anything he likes as your software just won't be running. Anyone can do it really, there's full step by step how to guides around.
Just put it in a public area of the house; somewhere he knows people can see him or walk in just anytime. But if he's gonna do it, he'll manage one way or another whatever you do. Believe me... lol.
The only way to 'stop him' would be to have a serious chat with him about it, but even then you can't guarantee it'll have the desired effect.

Arguing with idiots is like playing chess with a pigeon: no matter how good you are at chess, its just going to knock over the pieces and strut around like its victorious.

In Trend have you set up parental controls to block certain users from accessing stuff? If you open up Internet and Firewall -> Go to Parental Controls bit -> Activiate Parental Controls -> Website Filter Strength, set it to Teen and it blocks violence !!!!!! etc.

Make your little man use his imagination!

Thats what we have done and put in the individual sites on the custom setting. most is blocked but not the foreign sites!

Get a list of all the !!!!!! sites, then make a custom HOSTS file and redirect all those sites to www. lemonparty.org

You'll either cause the behaviour to be aborted... or you'll create a pervert.

Stop paying your ISP. Cancel your account with them.

    Job done.
  • You may not agree with me here but I will give my opinion anyway.

As someone said in a previous post, as long as it is not snuff or animals and the such that he is watching, can you not leave him be, I know it may be an awful thought that he is watching !!!!!! at a tender age of 14 ( 2years away from legally be allowed to wed and raise a family) ... all I can say is, he must know that you are attempting to block every single website that you can as he must be having trouble viewing, he will also think you are invading his privacy and he may not come to you in the future and discuss things that are personal, he has testosterone (sp?) flying around his body which is out of his control, as long as this isn't affecting his school work or relationships with friends family, what is he doing wrong?
You could speak to him about it and express that you feel he is too young to be viewing these sites and point out that the legal age to look at them is 18....or you could always have a chat with your doctor next time you need to visit and get his opinion, I think you will see it is very common.
Please don't think I am rubbishing your feelings, sure enough I will go through this when mine are older.

I can't believe you're spying on him and haven't let him know there's a problem, you are just letting him dig himself into a bigger and bigger hole, man up and have a word with him, that's the first thing you should have done, and set some rules. Your wasting your time trying to block access to all !!!!!!, all 14-year-olds are computer experts and he can and will get round any filtering system including all those mentioned here. If he's moved on to the hardcore stuff at 14 he probably started on the softcore a while before... at what age did you let him have unsupervised computer access?

Although not confronting him and spying on him is terrible, so is "leaving him be". If as a 14-year-old he decides to want to see people his own age engaged in acts, well that is a world of trouble obviously, and as he's watching the "really hardcore stuff" already then that probably isn't good for him in the long run if he's doing it all the time, so he needs to know you're keeping an eye on him, and he needs to know the rules. You will have to talk to him.
