Rather embarassing topic! DS14 has been downlaoding !!!!!!, horrible hard core stuff. We have customised the parental controls on the security and blocked other websites buy putting the web address in manually. However some sites we just can,t seem to block including images and videos. They are mostly foreign that he seems to be able to access through a general video link, then access the nasty stuff. Its completely baffled me and DH how we can't seem to stop it. DS has no idea we are checking what he is up to, but gets the off limits screen for the majority of the stuff he is trying to access.
Is it possible to ask our ISP (virgin) to block it at source? We are running windows 7 and trend security which we had set up by a computer guy back in January when the probllem started. The trend is a should do its job for 2 yrs. Any advise welcome. Although not trying to reason with a 14yr DS!!!

Sorry, so you've not actually told him to stop looking at it?
I remember my parents having that talk with me when I was his age - the embarrassment alone was enough to make me quit doing it.
Technically speaking, you're going to be really hard pushed to find something to stop EVERYTHING. Your better options are to build trust with your DS, or otherwise have him use the computer where you can see him.0 -
put the computer in you living room? you can block access to certain sites, but there are loads and you can not block everything!

VM won't do anything. You can install an ad blocker but to be honest you're going to struggle to block everything that comes through. Don't forget that there may be spyware on there. Ever noticed when you search for things adverts come up in the sidebars advertising the things you've been searching.Estate Agent, Web Designer & All Round Geek!0

Give the little !!!!!! a break. In much of the civilised world he could marry at 14 and be filming his own hard core !!!!!! in the privacy of the marital bed. In fact, most US states would let your 14 year old son wed his chick where there is a "special cause" (i.e. she's up the duff).
Could you think of his seedy surfing as being budget birth control? Are you ready to be a granny yet?
As my old man used to say to me..

But on a more serious note, kaspersky internet security 2011 has some excellent parental controls which stop most porno site/images.

If you install K9 he will have an impossible job of looking at YouTube without the password, as long as he is not able to make new computer accounts
